I treated myself to the receiver as our new TV unit only has a moderate tone. Furthermore, we also wanted another home stereo have in the predominantly Radio (Internet radio) and music libraries are played by our Synology NAS. The device itself is quite OK, processing makes a high impression, but the interface is very user-unfriendly and minimalistic. Partly a little nest, so you have to fight through some submenus. An operation on the device is restricted, the remote control is absolutely failed and confusing. User / ease of use, was once a strength of Yamaha and has been in this device, unfortunately, rejected. A simple tone control via audio / Bass Regeler does not exist. As the CEC control with the Philips TV was not working properly and the Kathrein receiver, much even the last crumb comfort away. Unfortunately, we disposed of the device because the cons outweighed unfortunately for us. Sonically I can not write very much, because we have operated only with a Canton Movie 160 System and two times with MB Quart 590MCS speakers. The Canton system sounded awful the MB Quart speakers had in stereo mode a great sound, which was probably also on the receiver. I have now bought a Marantz NR1605, which is actually much better to use, Qualitatively the Yamaha in no way inferior, the CEC works control correctly, but also the occasional small flaw has. Whether it is a final solution, I do not know, because I'm going to test a soundbar with Blu-ray player plus a stereo amplifier with network connection and Internet radio from Yamaha and Onkyo - which again have an analog output stage. The device I can only conditionally recommend thanks to the poor user experience. More than 3 stars is not worth it to me at a strike price of 499.00 euros
