Microsoft SideWinder, Razer Lachesis and Logitech G9.
Since the G9 me design technically but less and Razer have -problem was obviated because the "ring finger" equal times I initially resorted to Sidewinder most well-liked, the price. Home I immediately wrapped the thing for 5 minutes test again and carried back to MMarkt. :) (Alone the scroll wheel has me absolutely not fit to hold the negative review times small ...)
So it was then that I had to simplify my wallet again to a few euros, and the G9 was packing. To arrange the purchase price with my conscience, then I have taken from me the thing very closely examined. Here are my impressions:
Style:
For me the best mouse I had jeh. This Mechanical / Technical, the barren, smooth, square and yet curved exterior meet the nerve with me. Along with the red LEDs (I could see the other colors previously not try, because there is no appropriate driver for my Macbook) has the whole something cool Strogg- / Star Wars-like - do not ask me why, but that's what struck me immediately in the sense. Both shells look good, the firmer by the two narrowed the thing a little bit, but I prefer the other, so-called 'XL' version because of the thumb rest. The cable is plastic coated, very presentable, and long enough!) If that whole thing comes too bulky, the mouse can also operate "naked". Then you do not notice it at the 'Gamer'-moderate
Handling.
This mouse is not for people who like to rest the whole hand on your mouse. (Unless you have very small hands.) It is rather pushed around with your fingers. (A positive side effect for people with sweaty hands there's a good cooling effect) I even have to get used me because, as I always rather the -human was "full-hand mouse" since IntelliMouse Explorer anno 1999. The precision in Q3 - Play does it, on the contrary, not detract. The Rail sits better than jeh :-) The Teflon-coated sliding elements do their services delightfully pleasant, quick and quiet. (The appropriate Mousepad provided.)
Buttons / scroll wheel.
The keys have a crisp press point, acting qualitatively very valuable. A small feature provides the scroll wheel: In addition to the good grip, particularly stands out the possibility to switch between gliding and level setting. (This feature I like especially in connection with the coverflow search within folders with> 1000 images) In addition, the wheel also features the side scrolling, which I so far rather rarely use, most times when Photoshop pottering.
DPI setting.
This I see when playing at more than a gimmick. While it is quite handy if you have the opportunity to reduce within the games dpi number when snipers, but that makes for fast shooters like Q3 little sense, since the keys are not just to operate ergnomisch-fast. (As we go with simple keybindings but probably a whole lot easier ...) For people use, such as Photoshop, but it can be very useful because the layer can be precisely moved due to the very high sampling rate of the laser. I myself will test this new way probably still extensively in everyday use.
Weights.
Here's commenting little. The ability to adjust the weight there was already earlier, who is preparing a heavier mouse joy, which here are given the opportunity, the weight Esch Eight, which is beautiful by the way hidden under the 'Shell', with 4 resp. Weighing 7 grams platelets. (Maximum 28 grams can be added.)
Built-in memory.
Here too I can not say anything because of the lack of Mac driver.
Finally, I can only say that I would regard as the high price not too inappropriate. The changeability of the mouse is not merely a justification for higher prices, as in several skin-Change-products of the case is / was. (The thumb rest at the 'XL' shell and the grip surface on the' Precision' shell offer here for everyone.) The design of this mouse refines your desk, even if there is no gaming PC is underneath. (The Sidewinder cultivated the 'Gamer' look well pronounced.)
Because the crisp design, the technical features and the beautiful herrausragenden processing I give full 5 stars!
