Binary Domain (video game)

Customer Review

Binary Domain is a game that itself boasts a great innovation. Wrongly. Although the speech function is very nice and funny and the AI actually reacts, this feature is more of an addition to the game principle and degenerates with increasing playing time thus becoming a gimmick. Nevertheless, it is here for a good, sometimes even great video game. Why? I guess I'll tell you the same.

Technology:
The game looks very nice. Some environments are somewhat plain, but overall the graphics are really okay, because especially the faces of the characters and the animations are well done. Something is superfluous, however, that the frames go places evil in the basement when is on the screen a lot going on. In contrast, sound nothing there to complain about. In battle thunder and crashing all weapons mightily, the speech is fortunately German not bad. A few nice pieces of music there is on top of it too. Thumbs up!

Gameplay:
Here's my headline comes into its own. Binary Domain shooter mechanics can in fact wonderfully on the phrase "not much new, but a lot of good" break down.
Everything is not quite as fast and stylish as in Vanquish [with which it is sometimes compared], but the battles are but exciting and varied. For this, the enemy design is very well done. The AI is decent and the bigger opponents have a lot of power and also move smartly and quickly! That knows how to please! The changes are with the confidence of his comrades and the voice command input in place, but not nearly consistent enough. Confidence plays throughout the connection is far too little role and has hardly any influence on the gameplay itself. And on the other side the voice commands: They work well in itself, most of the stored commands and records are properly recorded ... and yet there is no real innovation. It occurs, simply the tactic too short! In the Crossfire it makes practically no difference whether you ordered or not, even if they listen to you, or not [Additional uselessness of trust]. They act on their own clever enough and in my Rambo method practically works better than strategic approach. For if you on defense, health and firepower skillt you can watch very often plunge without regard to losses into battle and still the undisputed winner emerge from it. And that's a pity ... at least if the game is sold as a tactical shooter.

Story:
Not at Style over substance! Binary Domain offers a compelling story with a very good suspense, which also features surprising turns and twists sequence.
The dramatic moments are dramatic and the character development is very believable. While it all begins quite slowly, but if the story gets going, it is placed flawlessly on the stage.

Scope:
I have not counted, but the campaign is likely to be between 10 and 15 gaming hours. For a shooter campaign which is very neat.
There is also an online multiplayer mode, which I unfortunately could not test, because my console is offline.
But I'm sure, will not be too bad of;)

This and that:
Here comes an overview of all pros and cons and a few things that do not fit into the categories.

Positives:
Scope is okay
-German Speech
-eingängige control with good cover system
-entwickelbare weapons and abilities
-Each Chara is a different battle type
-nice animations
-Good story
-great sound
faire reset points
-Several levels of difficulty
clearly contributes fun shooter mechanics ...

Negatives:
-... Their innovations but are not
-Here and there inconsistent
-The plates One-liners are not sure what for each
Tactic often comes up short
-Drops In the framerate
-sterile and dreary environments

Conclusion:
Binary Domain invents the genre is not new, but a lot of right and attacks rarely in the toilet. My biggest gripe is the lack of consistency in tactics and innovations by far.
What is then comes out a locally solid, sometimes good and sometimes great third person shooter that adds up at the end of 4 stars.
As a genre fan you should leave this piece of software not miss.
