I had previously about six months the corresponding Tamron 18-200 at the Nex-7 in use. As part of the firmware updates for some of Sony lenses (keyword hybrid autofocus) it occurred to me that it would possibly be future-proof, even the travel zoom 'original' of Sony possess. It is well assumed that also comes a possible successor to the NEX-7 with hybrid AF - and I will then also with my existing lenses benefit.
Meanwhile, I have the Tamron replaced by this Sony lens. For me, the Sony looks outwardly slightly better, processing and image quality are compared to Tamron identical - and with whom I was always satisfied. Thus, my review of this Sony SEL 18200LE falls also good. A star deduction, there is only the much weaker value for money compared to the Tamron.
