When the laptop locks there are really only two alternatives - either the expensive brand locks (Kensington) or the similar looking cheap Nonameprodukte. Since I use only to the psychologically deterrent effect, I have decided on this castle. That there would be no real anti-theft device for 5, that was clear. In fact: The strap can be cut at the junction with a commercial small pliers without problems. With a minimal larger pliers and the cable could be carried. The intensive plastic odor described by many I can not confirm, however, the castle was just two months unpacked in my cabinet, before the time was ripe for the final thesis and I needed it. With daily use, there were almost immediate problems - the lock cylinder is held in the cable holder only a short distance it pinned pipe. This was loose and the cable was therefore no longer connected to the castle. Repair test with tongs brought nothing - the pipe must be fixed and can not be pressing down firmly. I have the cable and the lock cylinder reassembled regularly and the apparatus further used (when the lock on the laptop, the cable can not fall off.)
After 1.5 months of daily use of the key was in the lock (the laptop off !!) at one time no longer to turn. At the subsequent slight use of force without additional tools (Russian repair measure No1.) Broke the lock mechanism apart completely and is no longer usable.
Conclusion: quality = 0. Not suitable for everyday use over extended periods. Anyone who tries to take this opportunity towards a brand lock to save money is the money twice from.
