Once I wanted to change my getting on in years Sanyo PLV Z3 finally to a device with more light output, Full HD and 3D, I have decided after a long search and also inspired by the published reviews of the TH681.
For this purpose equal to 4, I think quite expensive, 3D glasses of Vidimension (Blue Heaven).
Unwrapped, my previous ceiling mount adapted slightly and mounted the projector on the sofa in about 4 feet away from my already existing canvas. Then a new 10 meter HDMI cable laid (for safety's sake, probably unnecessary, but not very expensive, but the newest standard, so I can use all gadgets) and in with the first film.
First Impressions:
Operation: Super simple, clarifying itself.
Huge picture. I would probably have to buy a bigger canvas short because also filed with the smallest zoom the image to the edge of the canvas. Good admitted my mistake. Then I could have informed myself better before. A table from which to image size can be calculated based on the distance from the screen, you will find very quickly on the Internet.
Image quality, resolution, color: Spitzenmäßig, everything super.
Then the brightness. With my old Sanyo films I could really only see good in almost complete darkness.
The TH681 is the movie experience in a dark room and the greatest, but you can really see the day all with a very good quality also.
My biggest concern was with the projector purchase the possibly loud fan noise. Since I am very sensitive.
So I directed my attention to it.
In normal mode, the fan in my view, is already clearly audible, too loud for a cinema projector.
But there are still 2 more setting modes. Firstly, Eco and secondly the saving mode, which are both in the evening for a relaxed viewing pleasure perfectly adequate.
The fan noise is reduced audible in Eco mode and once more in sleep mode. In quiet movie scenes and if you really pays attention, the fan also in the lowest level is still audible, but not really disturbing for me.
So, now the first 3D movie. Jurassic Park. Missed in the cinema in 3D, now recuperated at home.
Result with the TH681: Toll! Vibrant colors, a large, bright image, beautiful 3D effect.
Also in the next and next 3D film can fully convince the projector.
Why do I have the projector but now returned?
There was only one reason: the RBE!
To my mind the rainbow effect was at "normal" films (without 3D) as well as in the TV mode clearly perceptible and just annoying. Once seen, always pay attention and therefore always seen.
I've tried all brightness modes and also tested several sources.
At faster eye movements I (and not only me, but also friends, and even my wife (who otherwise always says, "Oh, what do you see again (or hear)" on contours in the movie seen very often) green flashes of color.
Granted, my Mitseher I had only to draw attention to the phenomenon.
After I previously did not even know exactly what ever a rainbow effect (the Sanyo LCD projector than does not know something), I know that now the better.
After the first 2D movie I said to myself then: Hmm, something is wrong here. Then further tested. Switched inserted on television, another film: What constantly shimmers there so greenish?
After further testing, I asked myself finally: Can I live with the error or the error is too big?
Result for me: I buy me but because of the great image not constantly Blu-rays, which I then for image errors of player can not really enjoy.
For me it is now clear that I'm going to buy myself any DLP projector more, until the manufacturers get the problem with the RBE, which appear on all devices even more or less occurs in the handle.
Sure, the TH681 has an unbeatable price, and who can live at this price with the problem which is to do so.
I want to spend but reluctantly for a beamer a lot more money, but have nevertheless certain claims.
Also, it may be that I caught a Monday device, in which the RBE appeared reinforced.
I would tense as this was approached not as good as in previous reviews on a few comments on the subject rainbow effect.
