- SRS-X5 (which I bought): it is much more efficient and pleasant for the same price, or even cheaper now. It is somewhat larger, less broad, and is very compact. I was really amazed by the sound reproduction. The sound stays clean by increasing the volume. It has the same functionality as SRS-X3 (SOUND button to lighten and spatialized sound rendering, handsfree, USB charging, audio in). Impeccable build quality, superb design (depending on tastes). Glass plate on top: fingerprints we see. Sensitive keys, except for on / off and call pickup.
- SRS-X3 very close to the JBL: at first listen the sound is impressive for such a small "box". Impeccable build quality, print quality and robustness when taken in hand ("heavier" than JBL). Rubber buttons look nice. The SOUND function spatializes slight sound, it seems to widen the sound field. On this pregnant after comparison, I find the sound to deaf sentence without the SOUND function, and only too clear with the SOUND function (lacking some medium). The sound stays clean by increasing the volume. In fact you should buy it without comparing it to the JBL (and again, it depends on personal taste) and especially SRS-X5.
- JBL Load 2 (which I bought): I had a hard time choosing between the SRS-X3 and this (very close to natural sound as impressive see, impeccable build quality also similar price, great design ...). What I decided: when moving away a little of the SRS-X3 (2m), strongly attenuate low (I'm not a follower who type too low, but it takes a minimum for the warmth of the sound) when we still hear them with JBL. The sound of JBL is very clean throughout the range, well balanced, no need for correction. JBL is also lighter, cylindrical. Rubber buttons look nice. It is true that you can hear some low noise at times (2 found few times), but you really lend an ear, having to see the side of the head. And I think it also depends on the electronic environment in which we find (proximity of another device that radiates).
If you have the opportunity to test, please, everyone listens to music differently.
For me, in this range, the SRS-X5 is really the enclosure to buy.
