Olympus Stylus Tough TG-3

The Olympus TG-3 combines virtually the best of both worlds: on the one hand it is a handy compact camera, on the other hand a robust outdoor Action Cam, but those without bulky optics.
The camera has a 1 / 2.3-inch sensor (16 megapixels), a 25 to 100 mm focal length corresponding miniature quad-zoom lens (digital zoom up to 16x) with initial light intensity 1: 2 to 4.9. 22 scene modes, seven digital filter, Full HD video with stereo sound, high-speed mode with up to 240 frames per second, time lapse recording, five still image shots in series with full resolution and up to 60 frames per second at reduced resolution. In addition, is still a WLAN and a GPS module including compass and 31 automatic programs in the pretty case. The enclosed battery proves to be surprisingly durable, I have made 150 test photos and filmed about 90 minutes and the camera did not limp.

While the (daylight) videos in Full HD very sharp and of course over came and also the stabilizer erwieß be useful, the pictures were grainy and sometimes slightly out of focus depending on the light. Probably the 16 megapixels for the small image sensor are slightly oversized, because the darker it became, the more smoking image came into play. This one has to reckon with easy when using this camera and the choice of motifs. Shots in bright sunlight I felt with very few drawbacks however okay. I wish I had tried the camera in the sea or underwater, but that will probably be until next summer again possible. Bath photos I found now at least not so appealing.
However, an absolute blast is the firing sequence, the camera shoots in autofocus really blazing fast frames in succession away. Especially in the outdoor area an extremely important feature.

In summary, the Olympus Stylus Tough TG-3 is a nearly perfect companion for trips, sports and leisure. It holds a lot of, is without another housing up to 15m Waterproof and has a very long battery life, which does not make immediately limp after a few minutes of action. The image quality could be better especially in difficult lighting conditions, but otherwise I can find on this camera no other significant criticisms.
