So a movie I have not seen. Linked Six different stories from different eras of humanity in a way that I can not put into words right now, to be then assembled to form a whole in grandiose fashion. At a Grand on to detail that makes me downright amazed - I mean thoroughly positive.
Among the many incredible detail just one example that impressed me most of all: how in the very distant future, mankind has changed, so did the language has changed. It has really varied the manner of speech of the people and aligned with the state of society. So what are commonly found - and if at all - only in books before, but not in movies.
The film is full of Philosophy / Religion: Social justice, reincarnation, ethics of cloning, slavery and freedom, dealing with elderly and needy, capitalism and its consequences, and so much more that I do not get along all here ...
I wonder if it would have been better to make two movies out of it. Would, I think, have been a hard sell, since not everyone has understood the film or it appreciates. I already understand that you would then prefer pervades in a movie, because it is feared that the simple mob will not see a second part want. Yes, the Matrix directors know the good. The have laid a phenomenal trilogy, in which the last two parts are (apparently because too much philosophy) does not come off well.
So: we therefore have a film that would have already done in my fine films collection, my personal Hall of Fame, which would be linguistically BlueRay not so poorly equipped.
I like to watch movies in their original version. When I occasionally does not understand (acoustic, slang, vocabulary, all factors in a foreign language), I did not turn in German order, but turn me briefly the subtitles in the original language added, read for what I did not hear or did not understand and researching necessary for the meaning. That's not possible here. Subtitle's only in German. Worse: If you look at the film in the original version on, you can not turn off the German subtitles! Well, I'll probably have to wait for hope and a new edition of the film on BlueRay.
From me a clear recommendation to look at. But also a clear recommendation to the BlueRay not to buy. Too bad, because look once is not enough!
