One device - many uses

At the beginning I would like to briefly explain the motive of the purchase decision (this was then the basis for further applications).

Our grandmother came forward because paced dementia nursing home. For the time being in short-term care, and later in long-term care.
So there queuing one or two moves, it was difficult (and not impossible) to organize a telephone connection via the fixed network.
Furthermore, our grandmother had for quite some time also problems with the operation of their own phone (cordless with large keys).
Browsing the net I am (thanks to the Lord is) stumbled on this phone.
And these were the characteristics that convinced me:
- No display
- No useless keys
- Not always dial the area code (area code can be set individually - distance calls with other area codes are automatically recognized and taken into account)
- Robust design with a corresponding weight and metal clamp
- Dial - operation is the grandmother of previously familiar (and has been confirmed as soon as possible in constant telephony)

Upon further research on much that the manufacturer has done a good job with German thoroughness. Positive reviews were a feature. However, upon further study of the postings and manual came on that this product is very well thought out. (Quadband technology, common battery, and more.)

Other research took me still on the idea to install a prepaid SIM card in the phone, which has a code, the area code.
And now this project was a great turning point: Yes, there is a provider that offers a prepaid card with the area code (9 ct / min, flat-rate option available, E-Plus network is used, no minimum turnover, no monthly fixed price when no flatrate ordered).

Ergo:
Neither the grandmother realizes that she uses a mobile phone - you do not like a phone anticipate choose the area code of the place.
Even the caller noted with reference to the code that it is a, for the caller without flat rate, expensive phone connection; Grandma can be called on a local number.

The unit came.
The PrePaid card also.
Card inserted.
Battery charged (power cord can remain plugged in).
Basic setting if necessary adjusted (earpiece and microphone volume, area code, et cetera).

The easiest way.
Very nice solved.
Price is, admittedly, quite high.
For the goods offered and the processing (including technicians in the network for processing inside!) Absolutely worth every penny.

Further fields of application?
1) We have no landline. With us everything is going on the Internet service provider (keyword VOIP). If possible DSL loss no Telefonie. Our DSL providers offered us: a GSM card with Festnetzflat without MTL. Costs. This in such a phone inside. Schwupp-Di-Dupp-Kartoffelsupp.
2) We have a weekend house with no possibility for telephone line.
Corresponding PrePaid card into the phone and put down there.
