One of the best comic book series ever

If someone who has established one of the most successful film franchises of all time, says in the foreword of a comic book about the author of the comics that this part of the literature heritage and do not be without it for, then that is remarkable.

If this cartoonist until he suffered - at least in Europe - has a legend is true and characters like "Scrooge McDuck" or "Gyro Gearloose" thought, then we are talking about an artist who has made himself immortal.

I already have numerous issues from him, as well as a German full version - but when I understood the principle and the manner of publication of the new edition of the English "Carl Barks Library", I was interested.

To my own regret, I have to say that I came only after almost 3 years on this English total output. I had them, always seen in the time before somewhere for sale, but never really given her attention.
To my advantage but I must state that to date only 7 volumes have been published, 2 are in the starting blocks - and when I recently saw this part of the overall issue, I had him just have, after all, is "Only a Poor Old Man" in my eyes one of the best comic book stories of all time (incl. the legendary last page, the many, for example, Don Rosa, ever for one of the best comic pages hold).

I ordered this issue mainly to read this great story sometimes in the "original", really willing to buy the entire Library, I was not really - but now I have to state that there is no other way, as all expenditures pick up.

As was the "Don Rosa Library", which is published by the same publisher, the band reigns supreme.

On top of that I consider the bond including the presentation as very great -. In the German-speaking world there are a few books that teach for a price of around 20 similar quality. One is tempted to use the word "perfect" in his mouth.

Upon receipt of the book (and my corresponding positive opinion) I researched when and how this library will be continued - my earnings let a smile appear on my lips.
Two editions are published annually in the coming years - that's not much, certainly not at 20 per band. The whole issue is therefore approximately be a total price of 600 - for a total output of Carl Barks stories that is in my eyes a lot.

Of course, 600 in one fell swoop a lot - but at present there is the inclined Comicfan in the favorable position that the "Library", which will comprise 30 volumes in the final state can boast not even 9 published books.

The volumes that are planned according to Wikipedia and published previously, are indeed a total of 9 - but included in the two volumes, which in 2015 still to come.
2011 was a band out, from 2012 to 2014 two - therefore it can be assumed that in the future always two volumes per year are published.

Of course you can the impatient (collectors) now say that it will take in a publication of 2 volumes per year until 2025, until all are published - but let me note the following:
I prefer to pay annually 2x20 over a longer period instead of 600 in one fell swoop.
In addition: the publisher should stop taking the time. Dear 'ne great issue for more than a decade ago, when 30 weak volumes, which I rarely get off the shelf.

I can about the difficulty of the English lose little - I spent a year in the US and am therefore trained accordingly well, but I see the English not to be overly difficult. Whether one can therefore learn English, I can not judge - but can improve his English is so (in an extremely entertaining way) definitely.

In conclusion, I can only draw that I'm incredibly happy to have (now) discovered this series.
She's great - and even if I already own the comics all in German, so it is something else again, to read in the "mother tongue" of the author.
That is also the reason why I'm the "Don Rosa Library" pick me also.

In addition, and as I'm sure the library is in the complete set, if it is eventually completed, more than 600 free - even if it is not this is a limitation Edition.
I hardly think that the volumes be reprinted without limit - this is the sales target market, the United States, in terms of "Disney comics" to uninterested.
