This 2.5 "hard drive I use in a PC built into a removable slipcase. It is almost silent! You will be a maximum of 35 degrees hot !! It works just as efficiently as all my previous hard drives, even though it spins only with 5400 U !!! I had nothing better in my pc !!!! My idea to install a laptop hard drive in a PC was the following. In a notebook all the components are packed together in a confined space and the thing has to work anyway. So would in a notebook but better hard drives installed be if the are still operated in a PC without space Enge., that can only be vorteilig yet. It is also known, the more heat is produced in a single device, the lower the efficiency is the same. But since I do not with the PC my room will heat up, but the PC is to provide performance, components must not even produce pure heat. For non-existing heat and no fan is required and so I can only congratulate WD on this disk and say, keep it up ...... ..
