###### DISPLAY: 9/10 ######
The screen of the Acer-A3 A20FHD uses IPS technology and offers a resolution of 1920x1200. This resolution is sufficient on a 10-inch tablet, allowing for comfortable reading and a detailed display.
The contrast of 989: 1 and brightness is good is high (395cd / m² maximum), which can even use the tablet outdoors in daylight. Color rendering is also in the average, and IPS technology provides a good record for wide viewing angles.
The screen is treated Gorilla Glass 3, which provides good strength and excellent resistance to scratches. It also has a treatment against fingerprints and even if the result is not obvious, it improves a little visibility to daylight.
###### PERFORMANCE: 8/10 ######
On paper, there is a MediaTek MT8127 chip with a quad-core 1.5GHz CPU and GPU Mali-450 MP4, supported by 2GB of RAM.
The Acer tablet gets a good overall score of 23305 in AnTuTu benchmark, which puts it well ahead of the Galaxy Tab 4 (17104), the Asus Memo Pad FHD (17640) and the Lenovo Yoga HD + (18926), but down compared to tablets with Intel Atom Z3745 or Pro Tab and Tab Samsung S that get between 30000 and 35000.
That's enough to use a web / multimedia standard, the tablet is responsive and no slowdown is regrettable, even when another task such as update an application upgrade takes place simultaneously. Note just a slight lack of fluidity for the heaviest animations without it being awkward to use.
However, this configuration does not allow you to play in good conditions to play the Play Store the most intensive 3D graphics resources. Other games (the vast majority) will pose him any difficulty.
###### AUTONOMY: 7/10 ######
The battery capacity is 5910mAh, which seems a bit tight for a 10-inch tablet with a screen resolution. However, MediaTek chip coupled to a non-overloaded Android allows moderate consumption on this model.
In practice, a range of about we get 8 to 10 hours for standard use at medium brightness and 4 to 5 hours for heavy use (games with high brightness). In standby, the consumption is satisfactory since 12 hours of inactivity the battery is drained only 2%.
Although we would have liked a slightly larger battery capacity, which would have provided one or two hours more, the autonomy of the A3-A20FHD is honorable.
###### SOFTWARE: 9/10 ######
This model embeds Android 4.4 entry and that it is hoped will be updated Android 5.0 in the near future.
Acer has had the excellent idea of developing a slight overlay, which allows us to get a very close experience of pure Android, where Samsung and Lenovo often unnecessarily overburden the system.
The Acer tablet still sailed about 600MB of pre-installed software that you can not completely remove. They are not very useful but have the merit of making the tablet immediately ready for use, including an office suite and a manager of integrated files.
These lost 600MB space are not so harmful, since this model embeds 32GB storage (expandable via Micro SD).
###### FINISH: 8/10 ######
It was feared at this price that Acer make savings, particularly toward the finish. In fact, Acer offers a very well finished tablet that gives a quality feel.
The tablet is light (about 510 grams), not too thick (8,9mm) and the edges are just large enough to allow a good grip.
The front is in a good quality plastic. The back of the tablet is he brushed aluminum which is very pleasant to the touch and gives the feeling of having high-end hands.
No light leakage, no crack and no weakness at the connectors can be reported.
###### APN / AUDIO: 7/10 ######
This tablet is equipped with two image sensors, a 2MP front and a 5MP rear.
As with most tablets, the picture quality obtained with the rear sensor is average, but this is not an important point for a smartphone, which is much more practical for this use.
The front sensor offers made quite small and colors not very faithful, but will be sufficient for video chats under good lighting conditions.
Dolby sound is good quality and rendering via the two speakers located at the bottom left and bottom right of the tablet is satisfactory.
###### CONNECTIVITY: 8/10 ######
Again, the Taiwanese brand does not make concessions.
In fact, storage is expandable via Micro SDHC up to 64GB. The device can play USB storage devices through its Micro-USB OTG-compatible port. Finally, a Micro-HDMI port is present, is increasingly scarce, and can connect the tablet to a TV via a standard cable that costs only a few euros. The GPS and the main sensors are not forgotten. Wireless hangs like GPS is average.
Some, however, regret the lack of NFC and the inability to connect via WiFi 5GHz even if the latter may be fixed in a future update, as the embedded chip MediaTek supports WiFi Dual-Band .
###### FINAL SCORE (Quality / Price): 9/10 ######
Price Launch 249, which can now subtract 30 ODR, the A3-A20FHD Acer tablet is a very good bill. Although we would have liked one or two extra hours of battery life, excellent IPS display, the very good level of finish and overall responsiveness with a substantially pure Android, positioning this tablet as one of the best quality / market prices in 2014.
