Negatives:
- The opening mechanism works like this: First, you have to use a rotary switch. As far as I turn this determines how long do I have to open the window shade or close (or both in one!). The switch turns back slowly and at this time the shade is unlocked. I operate the blind with just one hand (for example, because I the child or have a laundry basket on the other arm), I have to be fast. Very annoying when the time is not enough and I Rollo - must again release to re-use the dial - wherever it is in the moment. If you want to open against the blind in one, lead past behind and close again directly, so there is enough time under warranty Never. This means then: Stop hamper complicated on the stairs, turn switch, close Rollo. Turning the switch to 360 ° is also not just a gesture, the one with child in her arms twenty times wants to perform on the day (a simple button would have done it).
- The blind are also in the closed state for something. Especially creative and petite toddlers, even when the roller blind is mounted absolutely correct as for me according to the instructions (also in terms of ground clearance) - Lift the fabric around the head underneath to push through. I therefore believe that this barrier is limited for very small babies for sure. Certainly can not a child by crawling underneath completely, but it can stall, which is very unpleasant (which of course you have to say that a child can clamp in a conventional grid.
- The high price is not justified in my opinion. One wonders how this bit of cloth, plastic and aluminum to justify a price of 100 euros? I think as I said the closing mechanism for little sophisticated, also ensures that the quality of the closing rail to be desired. Here only thin plastic was used, what the fast locking of the blinds (which must be done on the entire amount) difficult. The blind has only one side a handle, so you always over long on the other side has to close the blind, which is then tilted like (and again can not be closed quickly enough).
Annoying also that there is the blind in this version only in black (looks in a white staircase not very nice out) - in white it costs 30 euros more for some reason!
Positives:
- It must be installed quickly and without complications. Thanks to the pipe supports (additional material) even in difficult places used.
- Perfect for tight spaces where you want to save space and should not be bulky Safety Gates in the way.
My Conclusion:
- Poorly suited for children Robb- and crawling stage, which are very delicate and inventive.
- Well suited for less highly frequented passages. Three to four times a day opening and closing is in order, you have to contrast throughout the day ever again pass, this solution is too cumbersome.
- Undefeated for tight spaces or poor mounting options, where all conventional grid systems fail.
I'm going to order me such a roller blind for the upper floor. I need only very rarely to close (if I am staying with child every few days on the top floor or later times at night so no sleepy Klogänger falls down the stairs). In the majority of other times is not annoying grid in the way.
But it's okay. On the cellar stairs I'll possibly detach it again.
