The adapter should be used in my case for connecting a laptop to an external monitor. The connection was there the following: laptop HDMI output -> HDMI Cable -> Adapter -> DVI monitor input. However, after the initial connection I made screen error (a kind of pixel noise). The HDMI cable could not be to blame, as there is a direct connection laptop HDMI output -> HDMI cable -> HDMI monitor input without problems works. The contacts were all firmly plugged in, a press brought no change. Next, I have the resolution of 1920x1200 lowered gradually - and lo and behold: suddenly, the picture flawless (at 720p, for example). In low bandwidth adapter works seemingly so. I, however, use a higher resolution, I wrote to the support and free to get a second adapter sent - with unfortunately the same result: Pixel errors in 1920x1200 resolution. So I tried to find out further why these data errors. And I've finally figured out that the direction DVI source -> DVI Cable -> Adapter -> HDMI target works properly even at higher resolutions / bandwidths for both adapters. In addition, I have been able to test a DVI-HDMI adapter from another manufacturer who has worked flawlessly in both directions. So it seems that the adapter offered here would have a lower quality and therefore probably function faultlessly even in the direction DVI> HDMI. This should at least be mentioned in the product description. Because the price is probably not be beaten and the support was fast and free, I forgive, despite the problems, or the inability to use the direction of HDMI> DVI in 1080p ultimately 3 stars.
