Having regard to Article from c't 24/2009 S. 64 I ordered this disk.
Already in study of the manual, I stop short, why should I, play back, hold an exactly the same hard drive ready? I still thought I could specifically select individual partitions and secure.
The dock is actually just a holder for the cable that with two USB ports comes along. Whether the cable to the dock would be replaced, I have not been studied (a kind of cap, under which the cable disappears there). Apparently it takes via Dock more electricity than without because the dockfreie cable (mini-USB to the hard drive) has only one. Ran with me but also with only a USB port properly (only the hub just not without a separate power supply below).
The cables have been very short. In particular, the separate (without dock) is rather a joke and hardly usable.
The first time you connect via a hub, I thought the hard drive was broken because they were loud noises.
This of course was unfortunately not in the manual. When I supplied the hub separately with current or the plate joined directly to the PC, they remained calm. Assume therefore that there should be some sort of warning sign that the disk does not have enough power.
Why do not they just stay out, really opens up not me.
When she was working then, I installed the software from the hard disk. The actual software but was downloaded from the Internet.
The software complained that they could back up only the system partition because too little space would. You probably meant the system hard drive, since my system partition is only 32 GB.
Accepted this first and then wanted to manually select all of it. But lo and behold, all partitions on the system disk was irrevocably chosen. Only partitions of the second hard drive I could choose. Now also revealed the Restore function from above sense. For me, this is but clearly too inflexible. Finally, I just want to back up important data.
Shortly thereafter, I noticed that running a floppy Seek (access to the floppy drive) every 30 sec. Was executed. What the hell has to look for the software there?
Even after I had disconnected the drive with the software from Syststem, did not stop this annoying Seek. Only after I had finished the software by hand, was calm again.
This annoying access noise (apart from the fact that this is for the diskette drive not optimal) prompted me then to end the experiment and return the plate again.
Original I had hoped for an uncomplicated backup, but was extremely disappointed. Think the system is only for PCs without a floppy drive and a hard drive (less than 500 GB) suitable. At the very least should be no unimportant data on the first disk. The blue indicator light is very large and highly visible. In addition, should be able to back up multiple PC. (Why not 2 points)
A pity because the software should optimize not really be that hard. Am also of the c't bit disappointed because we have tested there apparently only very superficially.
That one on the back due to lack of Verify and log function can not leave (see. C't article), should all be aware of.
