To make it short: I currently have this replica and the original Canon handle in front of me and the subsequent planting of return. I ordered the Canon as a comparison object after me with this replica of the following points are noticed:
- Klappert despite "tightening" of the screw (see below)
- Wheel has once times does not work (ie short dropouts, according to Associated with creaking bending and pressing the Camera Grip-trailer combination, we went) => what I do during a shoot?
- Batteries are not always detected properly: If only one battery in it and you swap this from the left to the right specialist has suddenly two batteries according to camera display (I found very strange). If you build the grip out and back in, adjusts the display. If one, two batteries, which display true. So somehow you go well, but not as expected.
- The adhesive residue on the rubber did not bother me, but there are
- Compared with the battery cover of the camera of the replica handle is sealed with velvet (dust / sand protection)
And now the comparison. I am counting on the points that are different from the Canon grip [implementing the replica in square brackets]:
- Currently no dropouts
- The battery cage is lined on the inside with metal, especially the tripod socket is securely held stable [plastic]
- All contacts are gold-plated [not many gilded]
- Larger contact with the camera [thinner pins]
- No adhesive residue
- Textured keys (grip)
- Foam in the battery compartment prevents movement of the retaining rails => no rattling [no foam]
- A bag for the unused battery (Witty: In probably copied instructions of planting this is mentioned, but it is not included)
- The tightening screw has a defined end and ... [here you can tighten without hesitation]
- The move is simply fixed (no more creaking when gripping)
- AA battery holder has rubber inserts spaces for batteries (less wobbling) and also gold-plated contacts
- Batteries and battery replacement described above function "as expected"
One drawback of the original:
- He is slightly heavier (-> metal inner workings)
Draws:
- Also, the original does not have dust / sand protection
Despite the differences between the replica is made not "cheap": Polished surfaces, rubber grip section, instructions, box fit, feels not cheap, does not smell.
The batteries I can not say anything because I wanted to unpack only when I wanted to keep under control. You have but according to package a "new chip" (=> Battery ID etc) and according to pack a power of 2000 mAh (Original Canon has 1800mAh).
This set of two replica batteries and the handle is "worth the price" compared therefore. If you can live with the above points can be accessed here. I give 2 stars for a price-value product, what the term "original quality" but does not deserve.
