My sister had bought the headphones and was actually quite happy with them, so I also bought and am fully annoyed. The first headphones had a high mechanical pipes in the right ear cup, so back to Amazon and replaced. The next time the same crap headphones, including return and money back. With my sister, although there was no whistling, but after only 10 months of sporadic use, the things have now completely given up the ghost, so also back to Amazon and money back. Clearly, stay away!
