I use the RC-6 with an EOS 550D. The range is 6-7 meters. The remote control also triggers from the right side very well (if you stand behind the cam and a tripod used to prevent camera shake at slow shutter speeds). The remote control triggers to normal immediately. On 2 triggers after 2 seconds. The cam set in the Movie mode and starts and stops recording. In M mode, set the shutter speed to Bulb and the first button starts the exposure of the second stops. I have a remote control previously (noname) for 9, - ordered this had triggered a range of only 2 meters and has only one in three times. I am very happy with the small RC-6.
