Overall, a great part!

A long time I was looking for a bag, in which I bring my entire school stuff, even for days when I have eight hours of instruction. The bag should be so clear that I immediately have an overview on the content of the above, nothing should be squeezed and the bag should not look so stuffy, like a typical teacher bag as possible. Also, I was looking for a model with a practical interior layout so that pens, calculators, mobile phone etc. are accessible by a handle.
I already had several bags in different leather shops in hand, but either they were too narrow-minded of the optics, or they had almost no interior life, or the leather was so stiff that one had the feeling that one engages in a carton corrugated or I read in reviews that the leather rubs off on clothes. And that is not gonna work already. So I ended up with the model HEDIN of Freiherr v. Maltzahn.

Preliminary one should be said: When I was still living at my school location, I already had shoulder bags in use. But textbooks are now times so severe that over time I got a lot of pain in the shoulder and back area, despite the short footpath of 15 minutes and I switched to a backpack, but was much more complex than a shoulder bag. In the meantime, I do not dwell on my school location and travel by car directly to the teacher parking lot in front of the school. And in order to carry books from one classroom to the next, is a shoulder bag OK

But now to the bag itself:

Appearance:
The bag that I got sent visually more, very much on the picture on the internet.
What I like so much on the Internet, was spotted this worn look of the bag, so that it looks as if it were an heirloom from great-grandfather and had already loose a million lessons under his belt.
What I got delivered, had a uniformly colored, medium brown bag. Although beautiful, but quite different in the picture. I had specially still the matching pencil case and wallet called upon because I thought it was chic, that all three parts fit together visually. But they do not because pencil cases and purses so look exactly like the Internet, only my bag not.
Nevertheless, the bag is beautiful and it can already foresee that they will soon have these desired of me worn look on their own, because in the places where the leather is frequently moved, it is now much brighter. Also you can see in my pocket every scratch, for example, at the two front outer pockets, when the shutters draws upon closing inadvertently something about the leather. I do not mind that, in this way gets the bag by itself this cool character that I wanted from the outset. But who disturb such scratch marks, for it's annoying.
Overall, the bag looks beautiful and very valuable. One can imagine the price optically. The front appliqué crest of Freiherr von Maltzahn enhances the quality appearance even more.

The Leather:
I already mentioned that I had similar bags in hand, the leather was but extremely thick and stiff, so you had the feeling that one engages in a cardboard box. The leather of this bag here touches pleasant and quite soft, but is also correspondingly thin.
The problem now is that who seeks such a large bag, also intends to pack a great deal into it. And that means for the bag weight.
The eyelets for the carrying strap are sewn and reinforced with each rivet. But these two points on the outer wall of the pocket support the entire weight when wearing the bag on the belt. Sometimes when I touch the smooth but relatively thin leather, I wonder how long I'll have the pocket well, until it makes boom and tearing the material. But this is just speculation so far, perhaps I'm wrong there, too, and the bag is really very durable. This will show the duration of the test.
The strap itself is lined with fabric and that's a good thing. Firstly slips one so the bag does not constantly on the shoulder and, secondly, the thin leather of the belt alone would never support the weight of a fully loaded bag teacher permanently. The lower material thus gives the belt additional stability. With the shoulder pads, the bag is very comfortable to wear without having cuts or presses.

The interior layout:
The bag has two outside outside pockets and loops for three pins. I think that's ever quite handy. Things that you always fast times at hand must have been so ready immediately, including the pen for the entry in the class register.
Inside the bag has a large central compartment, where I actually a place for all the books and eight hours of instruction. Before and behind each is still a bit narrower specialist for teaching planners, exercise books and the like. Super!
On the inside of the front wall pockets for business cards and five check or left and right of each compartment for a mobile phone, for example, are the.

Otherwise, one could look at in the bag think they had fallen into the sewer of a zipper factory. As for zippers, there are very well-intentioned, the designers of Freiherr von Maltzahn. Too good, in my opinion:
All walls of the pocket are double, equipped with zippers and thus declared to an additional compartment.
The zipper head jumps to a on the outside of the front wall. The two partitions between the three compartments are each double, also provided with zippers. On the inside of the rear wall is still a zippered pocket and on the inside of the lid and again one.
Especially the last mentioned subject in the inside of the lid I personally totally for naught, because only a few sheets of paper could be done in the version in volume terms, the wrinkling necessarily because the lid yes bulges necessarily on the pocket.
But the other mentioned subjects I find now not really useful, because you can store only a few single sheets in this and would have to be absolutely packed in a film, so that they are not damaged in the extremely narrow compartments, especially if you she pulls along the zipper teeth from the subjects. Would I use all these subjects, I would look for me at the end dimwitted because I no longer knew in which double wall paper which I have transported sheet.
Here you could really reduce Useful to what the bag would have certainly made a few euros cheaper.
About the two zippers on the outside of the rear wall rejoice sure those who want to impale her bag on a luggage trolley or even a bike rack. But to the rear tray may not be filled, otherwise you get through neither trolley handle more luggage carrier flap.

The stand feet
At the bottom of the bag four small cylindrical metal feet are attached on which the bag is virtually. On the one hand very convenient because they protect the bottom of the bag a little. Unfortunately, this metal rolls are very sharp on the outer sides.
Before I took with my bag for the first time in the school, I have fully loaded, so it unfolds to full size, and then sprayed with Lederimprägnierspray.
