The coating is a bit grainy which allows a good grip and prevents the barbell from slipping when your hands sweat. The size is standard but beware of people with very big hands as taking width is not very important. Personally it suits me knowing that the width of my hand is 8 cm. With regard to the finish, the coating of the pair received was damaged at the junction cylinder mass several perforated areas by chip ECLIS below.
