Cable Mini DisplayPort -> DVI (Digital Visual Interface) is entirely consistent with the description. The connection goes smoothly and flawlessly on my iMac. The advantage of this cable is to transmit the digital signal (DVI) but also analog (VGA) unlike that of Apple which does not include the analog signal. In short, this cable is a DVI-I (for Integrated) which includes DVI-D (Digital -> Apple cable) + DVI-A (Analog - VGA). By adding a simple DVI / VGA adapter within 3 was a cable Mini DisplayPort -> VGA.
Manufacturing is German and very good. In these circumstances, I would say in conclusion, "Do not buy especially not the DVI-D model of Apple !!!!!"
