The maxcam Twin V2 module is used together with a Y-USB cable, Loader Card (long side) and PCB (short side with on / off switch) supplied. Software or instructions are not there.
Therefore, it was first of all on the net research - on the publisher's website can be found in any case the necessary software to download - even the Loader (Maxloader V2) and the firmware (current version 2.27).
I then first the USB cable plugged into the loader card and the PCB and then connected with a laptop with Windows - it was followed by the message Installing device driver software.
After a few minutes an error message indicating that the device driver software has been installed incorrectly.
An attempt to restart the Loader brought, in accordance with an error message regarding. COM port.
After further reading on the Internet you have to open in this case, the Windows Device Manager.
Here you will also find the maxcam hardware with an exclamation mark to indicate that something is not working.
For simple solution I have just "Update Driver" to click and let it automatically search.
After a few minutes the driver is found and installed - it was also indicated that it was set to USB Port 3 - are in the loader software for COM 1 to COM 8 selectable.
Then again clicked and started the loader - it was then displayed directly and without an error message COM 3.
Next, you click the button CAM to Image - opens a window where you can locate the folder that contains the software version and open. If you have found him just clicking the desired file and click Open - it A new window appears with the message "Transfer -" Wait for Module Reset "
Only then you connect the short end (PCB) to the maxcam module and operates the on / off switch to ON.
The software is then transferred to the module - and finished the programming.
Then I put the module together with new enforced Sky V14 smart card in my uncertified Technisat receiver.
The image was dark and the message that the card has not yet been connected to the device.
A release via the Sky website was not successful.
Consequently, the inferior supplied Sky receiver have connected and the card was free within 2 minutes.
Immediately the receiver is switched off and the card plugged into the back maxcam module in Technisat - Sky ran immediately and without errors.
Finally, I still have my HD + card removed as a Sky imposes on this card exchange and HD + for the remaining contractual term. For this purpose, then you can in the settings for the module in the receiver's menu, the HD function: put P to ON. From now on it is also possible to fast forward the recorded HD + programs and skip the annoying ads.
I am pleased that it is possible with this product, + to bypass the lungs transitions and limitations on the part of the consumer and Sky HD and free to see and to do what you want.
In my case, my S02 card was forcibly replaced by a V14 card including receivers without a hard drive.
Ultimately, it is an impertinence and insolence that you will be part of Sky basically forced to throw away the existing hard-disk receiver with the usual equipment worth several hundred euros.
If you want to continue to record programs, you will be compelled to appropriate more rates - up to 300 euros - to pay to utilize the equivalent functions.
Alternatively still was a paid Sky module available, which could be used in Technisat - then you can however only use the time-shift function for 90 minutes - but records on the hard disk is no longer possible.
Conclusion: The maxcam module works very well and is set up relatively easily even for the novice.
