Helen Grace will gradually his team reconstruct the pieces, though it will take time to discover the link between them.
Needless to say more, this is a thriller that works perfectly: no dead time, the player can only go at the end, well shod.
What I liked in this thriller is that for once, unlike what I usually criticizes the genre, the plot is not coarse, canvas sewing the son are fine, certainly chapters are short to create a breathless pace, but not systematically alternate between drama and mechanically investigation. The false trails mingle, and a story in italics which one wonders who is the author? The cop or the culprit?
Certainly we will find strings already seen elsewhere, alcoholic cop, the suspect shrink, the lone fighter and heroin, but it works without heaviness. As for the creepy kind of escalation, which often annoys me in current crime fiction, we are not really cut, but only the last scene is at the limit of endurance. The rest is up to manipulation, and fear ... the reader?
A very good discovery.
Am stram gram is the first novel of the author, one can only hope that the French publisher has acquired the translation rights of the following already published in England.
