Further components I installed the following:
2 x Crucial 4GB RAM CT51264BF160BJ
1 x Intel 2,777,324 Dual Band Wireless Network Adapter (Bluetooth, 867Mbps, WiFi)
1 x Samsung MZ-7TE120BW Series 840 EVO Basic internal SSD hard disk (6.4 cm (2.5 inches) (120GB, 256MB cache, SATA III,) silver metallic
I have "chosen shaft, because I a" purposely the NUC version with separate 2,5 wanted to use real "SSD. In mSATA SSDs along with a built-in WLAN module partly produced considerable heat which is harmful in the long run Fürt hardware. While the "normal" SSD is also warm, but by mounting the 2.5 "drive bay no / little problems makes.
The operating system I use Windows 8.1 in the 64 bit version.
The NUC is connected with me on an Acer H7531D projector and the network via a mini HDMI / HDMI cable, he comes over LAN (no wireless).
The installation of Windows 8.1 as well as the update of the BIOS to the latest version went smoothly.
Playback of FullHD material is functioning properly. No matter what source, stuttering so far I could not find. (I tested previously Youtube, Amazon Prime Video, iTunes)
Because I wanted to have an adapter for the Headphone socket of NUC (the cable forward herraus simply interfere optics) I have a small USB sound card connected via the I can output the sound of my boxes. Works great and has front hang out no cable. The sound card is a remnant of a defective Logitech G330 headset.
To control the NUC I never imagined the Logitech ordered TK820 wireless keyboard. Along with Windows 8.1 does the keyboard super. The keyboard supports Windows 8.1 gestures making operation much easier. The touchpad is also super (responds well and is large enough).
The volume of the NUC is also OK. The fan noise, I do not notice, because the fan of my beamer is louder. Even if only the NUC runs higher form I previously at most times a faint whirring. Disturbing but this is not by far.
The temperature is also Completely restructured OK. You can touch the NUC at all times on all sides. The top is most handwarm.
All in all the best HTPC for me. Small and fast, and with a neat OS. While the compilation costs a little more than any Android TV stick but it's worth it by far. Everything runs super smooth and has no compatibility issues with the different video portals.
5 of 5 stars.
Update 14/08/2014
Meanwhile I replaced the USB sound card to a Logitech Bluetooth audio adapter. The USB adapter was just too bassy. Works flawlessly. The connection is re-established automatically after a restart of the NUC and I still have a cable less the NUC.
Built Intel HD 5000 I have something "accelerated". That bit more power can I cope and volume he has therefore not gained. From the performance it but even notice the difference only slightly. Not that it would have wiggled before, but I wanted it as smooth as possible have.
