Perfect as a system disk on Linux Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx LTS)

My system drive gave signs of fatigue, and I chose this model to replace it, mainly because it offered a good compromise between low power consumption, its moderate price, its ample capacity and performance shown.

I use only 2 partitions on that drive, 50GB bootable to my system and swap 6GB. The rest of the disk (941GB still ...) is unused for now, but I intend to use it whenever I need space.

Note: I use more expensive drives organized in raid to my data, with performance that, if they are higher thanks to raid, do not exceed, for each disk individually.

In use (more than 32 days in operation, 39 power cycles), I am more than satisfied with the performance, with an "average read rate" very honorable to 83.4MB / s (max 111.4, 46.8 min) and an "average access time "of 15.1ms. Very beyond my previous disk performance.

No worries configuration or installation, no error messages in the logs. A very good record.
