To support the cooling there is a pesky 40-mini fan, but that can safely expand (after fewer than 14 housing screws, plus 4 has solved for the fan itself). He is infected on the board (not soldered), hence interchangeable with perhaps quieter copies. Unfortunately, this also runs cooler when no hard disk is installed. A Samsung HD103SJ is however without cooler despite the stress test with HD Tach not too warm (max.38 °).
HotPlugin or HotSwap works well under Vista32 with AHCI enabled when Intel ICH10R controller. The interface slows the SATA power of the inserted hard disk at all (HD TACH: average 110.9 MB / sec).
Oddly located as power connection no SATA connectors, but only one standard 4PIN. But is not a shortcoming. In addition, you can drive from the rear terminal panel a power LED and HDD Access LED. In the front of the Icydock MB671SK the operational state but also two signal LEDs. Highly Recommended !!
