The packaging of the Revo gives already the valence. The headset is secured behind a transparent cover and can be removed with little effort. On each side of the headphone is a description of the functions (NFC or running strength and Music control).
In a separate elongated box also has a microUSB to USB cable as well as the headphone cable, a bag and instructions, including registration code for the software included Revo. Except for the pocket Jabra has not saved, because the cable looking qualitatively equal, as they are outside not made of plastic but of a textile-like material. This has valuable and noble. The bag, however, is a better bag and thus the only negative outliers of the overall package.
But now to the headphones. They can be on both sides fold in order to become more easily transported. This works even if the brackets are adjusted (the setting will remain). The strap has a soft padding and the headphones fit snugly in the ears. But this should later prove negative point.
The first start-up is intuitive: NFC turn on the smartphone, turn on the headset (pairing mode is not required) and can touch the two devices. The smartphone asks if I want to connect and off you go. The compound is also in the NFC connection via Bluetooth. A manual coupling is also possible to the on / off switch must be pushed on the headphones in the coupling position and are looking for the smartphone. Not take much longer, and works just as reliably.
The music listening itself is relatively straightforward. On the right shell, the volume can be regulated. This works just like the click wheel of an iPod. Left and right you can jump by double-tapping a title backwards or forwards. The button in the middle of service as Play-Pause or the acceptance or hang up calls. I think the idea of click-Wheels super, but it happened to me many times that I do not hit the perfect area for the next track, and instead to find the proper position of the forward surface changed the volume. Also on the left, there is a shell key that starts the Revo player software. I think that's frankly a bit superfluous, since I did not want to play use the Revo software, as there are much better music player. The advantage of the Revo software is that it adjusts the equalizer depending on the music genre of the current track. Is good in theory, in practice, the software knows not the genre of many titles. Also, I am not the friend of various equalizer settings, but want a balanced setting, the App therefore gives me no added value and the key is thus unassigned.
And this brings me to the sound of music and calls. I want to start with the call: this is a great feature and it worked absolutely perfectly. The situation was different in the music. How have written a couple of reviewers: the sound is bass heavy. Among suffered the mids and highs. The frequencies I find not so clearly separated, I have the feeling that they are reciprocally moved or mixed. This is a very subjective and critical impression, because sonically I've already experienced a lot worse. That was not the primary reason why I did not keep the headphones.
This brings me to the real negative points:
.) The strap sit tight and after 1,5 - 2 hours doing my ears really hurt. I wear glasses and the headphones press my ears so tightly over his ears, that I have to take it down to insert a pause. Sure, there are on-ear headphones, but there is on the market more convenient solution.
.) The battery life is with 7 hours in order, however, has the competition much more, as well as the charging time of the Revo headphones is long (I arrived 3 hours, during which I got no visual feedback whether the headphones are fully charged, it may therefore be it also goes faster). Turning up the Revo headphones there is no charge level announcement.
In addition, there are positive points:
.) The Bluetooth buzzing with quiet music passages you do not hear nearly
.) The NFC feature is a nice gimmick that works well
.) They look visually awesome from, I like that the cable is led out of the listeners
.) Extremely high quality workmanship (except the storage bag)
.) Price-Performance Ratio
.) Multipoint: there may be two devices to be connected simultaneously
Ultimately, it was with the Revo headphones and nothing but me. This was due to the fact that the headphones on my ears ached after a certain time and the competition - although more expensive - the better overall concept has (in my case it was Bose SoundLink On-Ear Headphones).
What at first massively bothered me at the Revo-headphones (but turned out that the other Bluetooth headphones also occurred) is the regular short stuttering the music (as if the system briefly hang). In my case it was the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that when you turn off the display falls into a kind of sleep mode and the CPU throttling (by stuttering the music). I know it except the operation of the cable no solution. I generally recommend to try this before, as other handset manufacturers have the problem.
