I've been looking really long for a matching monopod for my system camera (Olympus E-PL5). The models that there is usually to buy, weigh at least 500 g (ehr more) and have a sizeable pack size. All well and good, but completely oversized for a camera-lens combination that usually about 400 to exceptionally 600 grams. In addition, I switched last year precisely for these reasons (weight and height) of DSLR system camera ... therefore was for my search for a suitable monopod a zero tolerance strategy and sent mercilessly heavy or oversized Einbeine (and ball heads) back again.
Eventually I got a feel for how much weight and what size a tripod (and a ball head) should have, so my demands are met ... and lo and behold, that Velbon L50 (plus Cullman CB2.7) are a complete success. For this type of load completely sufficient size ... this small and light. That's how it should be!
