Locating the disk that came with the insufficient Cube (80GB, equal to 20 hours of recording) I bought this drive 500GB (maximum capacity accepted by the Cube) Both say once he was finally recognized by the Cube but I had initially difficulties certainly because the USB cable supplied with the drive was defective in USB connector (hence 4x instead of 5) . My copy probably had a μcoupure on the connector and is the likely reason why the Cube "did not see the disc" (indicator not lit). Suddenly in "fiddling" the sinking of the cable into the USB socket of Cube witnessed the disk is on. My experience is this: There is no need to reformat the drive to a PC before connecting it to the Cube. Simply, the disk when connected (and if it is not immediately recognized) to perform a partial relocation of the Cube: MENU / MA TV / STB MON / UPDATE / RELOCATION / PARTIAL RELOCATION. In step 5 the disc will be recognized (the Cube displays WD my passport) and formatted. One final note, before connecting the drive "my passport" should be properly disconnect the 80GB disk provided by Canal because the Cube does not accept two drives at once despite the presence of two USB ports
