My short answer: The Acer is awesome and well worth it. And before all the freaks again list the weaknesses, I do that rather himself:
- Yes, the black level (without 3-D glasses) not the best.
- The stand is very stabiel but not height adjustable.
Now to my positive experiences. The subject black level is completely unfounded. The fact is, as of today there are particular for 3-D vision no better TFT! If you aufhat glasses, the black level is anyway not so important because the glasses significantly darkens again. Since then you have in the game, the brightness set one-third higher in order to have the same image as without glasses. The reaction time is excellent. I can discover no streaks. Also claimed by so many, supposedly existing input lag is in my opinion NOT available. Such freaks or professional players have other priorities anyway. Since it is hardly appropriate to talk about a monitor replacement of their mature (but not compatible 3-D vision) Professional Monitor and enumerate all the (minimum) disadvantages (is still the technology in the development of) the unit has ,
As always in life, you have to know what you want.
I wanted to 3-D vision, and can say as a graphic Freak: IT IS THE HAMMER. Who has not tried it, do not know anything. Every year when new graphics cards come out, I get nervous and try me to buy a more current. Then I'm happy about the small, great improvements. But 3-D vision is no improvement. It is a quantum leap. And yes, I also knew the ELSA Relevator glasses several years ago. That's not to compare.
So if you want to experience again all match pearl in a "different world", there is currently no better alternative. The Acer is slightly larger than the Samsung and ViewSonic, he has (depending on the setting of the 3-D depth) barely ghosting, which pronounced in the other two available 120 HRZ TFTs is the case.
Incidentally, I have also no dead pixels, and the monitor is not even lukewarm.
Buy it and you do not have long thought. In one year, certainly better screens on the market will be, but until then I did not give up 3-D vision. Who Half-Life 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum has experienced or C & C 3 or Anno 1404 times in 3D, will not go back.
I have even considered something if I would prefer the "Nvidia Fermi" buy me for the money, but I have my decision to buy the monitor and the 3-D Vision Kit, no regrets. For the FPS slump: He is present (40-50% less FPS) but less tragic, as assumed. I have a i7 920 to 4GHz, 6GB of RAM, SSD and a GTX 280. I can only say that I am just in Batman (with Physix) came the doubts about whether it is playable. I was quite surprised. Is me beforehand - we say at 40-50 FPS - noticed so many stuttering, I got in 3D much less feel that I notice a jerkiness. And in almost half the FPS. Games like Anno, all UE3 games or C & C 3 run anyway liquid. What is certain is ne Fermi nor the coronation of the experience, but it is also very well without.
