Caveat: I am working with hi since about 35 years and have therefore some experience. After I have after much hesitation, then befriended with data reduction, such as mp3 and now avid iPod Classic owners am, it was of course about to purchase ordinary headphones. I had in my collection some old listeners who ultimately for iPod all too insensitive, so too quiet, but are. I then tried a few (minimum) standard handset from AKG, Sennheiser, Sony and Koss. All is not really bad, but not fully convincing. The next step was then the entry in the Top-Class: first of UltimateEars the super.fi 5 pro, then the triple.fi 10. Both are excellent listeners and I was completely satisfied: great dynamic, rich bass. Never would have believed that out of so little things such a great sound can be conjured. After various test reports and review I have then still gained the IE 8, I'm always restless in search of something better. Well, what can I say that the Sennheiser is me rather than the UltimateEars! Incredibly warm, fat sound. Those things are never a nuisance. I felt instantly transported back to old analog times, just as I would listen to records. No compression, absolutely nothing quäkiges. The Ultimates solve maybe a little bit more on, are (to me) but then sometimes a little shrill and annoying. In addition, the Sennheiser sit with me a lot better in the ears, but of course this can vary between individuals. "Audio" wrote the test: The IE 8 add the music to nothing and leave nothing away. This brings the matter fairly to the point!
