I have the Maxtor DiamondMax 10 160GB 3.5 6L160P0 'ATA133 IDE PATA 8MB bought 7200RPM hard drive for upgrading a 13 year old PC (the PC Plus in March 2001). The size corresponds to the maximum size that can manage this PC as per technical specifications. In the boot screen size but displayed incorrectly with 137GB, the drive has a net capacity of 152 GB. I installed Windows XP pro, no problems. Windows XP displays the full capacity of the drive, in spite of the incorrect display of the boot screen. At the onboard controller on the motherboard MSI MS-6340, the board reached a disappointing 19 MB / s with an access time of 23 ms. On a Promise Ultra 133 TX2 PCI controller the disk is at 37 MB / s, also at 23 ms access time. This is disappointing because the disk Ultra DMA 133 is capable of this mode is indicated by HD Tune 2:55 and CrystalDiskInfo. After I started Windows XP in safe mode again, the board came up to 44 MB / s, I suspect, therefore, on the one hand a conflict of drivers will not be displayed and furthermore an extremely poor performance of the combination of motherboard and BIOS Medion. In a PC that is not quite so old the board should come on much faster transmission speeds, I'll try to test that. However, the access time seems to be a weak point of this panel (built in 2006). The delivery by the seller was very quick in absolute professional package. The number of power-ups and operating hours indicates a nearly-new plate. At this price can not ask for more.
Addendum of 25/10/2014 At one Mainbboard from 2008 plate reaches about 67-68 MB / s, the access time remains suboptimal in 22ms.
