This is the first album of Floyd that I could buy the day of its release in 1977 (I was 13), having only discovered Wish You Were Here and Meddle. At the time, the concept and meaning of texts escaped me completely! I have listened to that music, probably hundreds of times ... This disc is a childhood friend, who is dear to me, and I like to invite often; when it comes to me the desire to listen to old Floyd is one that comes most naturally and yet it is not my favorite. Perhaps paradoxical; but monuments such as Dark Side (or Sergeant Pepper Beatles or the Beach Boys Pet Sounds, etc ...) will address episodically, with deep respect and a particular mindset. It does not climb Everest every day, but when one is up, you appreciate the purity and splendor of the peaks. Animals is probably a notch below the best Floyd all he can bore a few lengths or disconcerted by its latent violence, but the Pigs on the Wing opening agreements always invite unopposed for 35 years, in a beautiful trip musical unique bittersweet feeling and listening after listening pleasure unabated.
