I have a home theater system now about 6 weeks in use and would like to share my experience with this system:
Packing:
The facility is very well packaged and can certainly survive minor accidents during transport - which I have not tried this, of course;)
Unpacking also went smoothly, although the system is so well packaged.
Structure:
The construction went really fix me. Since the cables are color-coded and the Blu ray player at the back is labeled accordingly, I have the plant can even build easily without looking at the manual. Visually I think the Blu ray player and the speakers very appealing.
Furnishings:
The establishment of the plant went smoothly without a glance at the manual to have to risk. Everything is explained on screen. After setting up the Internet connection, I also can update to the latest firmware immediately. Then we went to the first Blu ray. And I must say that I was quite shocked by the tone once. He was so bad that I would have the facility packed prefer immediately. But then I yet again looked at the menu and the system, ie the speakers, again set "reasonable". You can set the distances and the volume of einzelen boxes and after a while I had set my system as I thought it best personally.
Operation of the system:
Now it came time to watch movie the first Blu ray. And I must say that the system makes the sound forth for this price a good figure. One may here no hifi enjoyment expect, but for this price and that you get a 3D Blu ray Player incl. 5.1 boxes, the system in my opinion is very good and recommended. The Blu ray player itself has also convinced me. I have now some Blu Ray looked, in which case older and also some brand new Blu ray manifestations were present. The player has not played all the movies without hesitation. Also, the Blu ray player is quite fast in charging and quiet operation. The only thing I was not able to test the 3D function is so far, I still do not have a 3D TV.
You can also connect hard drives via the USB port to play media from here. I have connected a 1.5TB hard drive and was easily recognized. From there I could watch different movies. I have tried Divx, AVI, MKV and M2TS formats. All were recognized and played the same. Even MP3 files can be played without any problems.
Smart TV also works perfectly so far, and I also have to admit that I have not tested this feature so extensively.
Playback of music from my iPhone via the audio input works fine.
The remote control is for my needs more than Ok. They responded well, even without having to hold it directly to your device. As my remote control is out of my Philips TV has slightly worse in this respect.
Now Philips MyRemote app for:
The app is a bit disappointing. At least for me (iPhone 5 with current iOS) it crashes very often. The stream with SimplyShare works even more bad than good. This is really very unfortunate because these are nice features. But since this is probably due to the app itself think and hope I times that Philips help out there and an update will bring out.
Conclusion:
Those looking for a low-priced system incl. Blu ray player and hi-fi enjoyment is not expected at the right place. Here you get a lot of value for your money. The only drawback is the MyRemote app, which unfortunately do not really work as it promises it. Overall very good 4 stars from me. If there is an update to the app, there is also the 5th star.
I hope that this review will assist in a possible buying decision.
