Sony DSC-RX100 II Cyber-shot digital camera (20 megapixels, 3.6x opt. Zoom, 7.6 cm (3 inch) display, Full HD, image stabilized, NFC, WiFi) (Electronics)

Customer Review

I have the RX100 Mark II now rd. 10 days in operation:
The photos are simply "superb" so magnificently.
The videos really well, but with some limitations:
- The zoom is freehand not fully used. The reason is that the stabilizer does not reach the effect of the camcorder Sony HDR-PJ780 far.
- In low-light condition (ie really dark, for example, artificial night in the railway Miniature World in HH) produces the AF almost exclusively mud. He needs usually to come to 4 seconds to cope and in some cases is quite wrong permanently.
So you have to be a bit careful, focusing, check and then shoot without camera movement, for example, previously.
Apart from this little camera delivers images absolutely convincing, so crisp, brilliant and natural colors, very nice contrast.
Whether outdoors, in the subway or in the station restaurant, everything top, similar to the images that I had a week earlier with the Lumix 25mm GX7 and Leica f: 1.4 or later with the Lumix GH2 (also with Leica optics) did. So it is a real "point and shoot" camera that makes almost everything right.

Whether the RX100 Mark II is currently the best compact? In addition I would still the Fuji X-Pro with Zeiss 32mm f Touit: compare 1.8 and the two Fuji-zooms, but I am not yet happened. I actually wanted me choose one of the 3 cameras: the RX100 II, the Lumix GX7 or the Fuji X-Pro (both as system cameras) decide. But having the RX100 II tested extensively, I just can not leave her meht, no matter what effect that has on my bank account. In addition, the RX100 II with its firm but flexible optics is much cheaper than the other two, which still require separate lenses.

In a review of the RX100 II is disassembled literally: In my experience, not this applies to the camera, but concerns only a single copy, which went through the quality control during the morning break or was perhaps out of adjustment due to transport damage.
My copy is working as I said, absolutely flawless.

The RX100 II does not replace any DSLR, but who wants the RX100 II purchase instead of a DSLR should have no concerns: Clear that the RX100 is not as flexible as a reflex, but if the concern is only to shoot sharp and brilliant images quickly since the little Sony needs with the built-Zeiss optics before my Nikon D5000 and D7100 do not hide. Your automatic is well programmed and operates zuverläsig, I'd say in 95% of cases. For example, even faces in a moving train with bright window in the background are still reasonably well exposed.
Conclusion: A good and inexpensive "always-casual-camera" for all cases, except for extraordinary situations.

For perfectionists: A Briquett Sony is demnächt reloading: The Alpha 7R with 36 MP full-frame sensor and Zeiss interchangeable lenses, which will be released in mid-November 2013, should all existing in the shadow set (quote Sony: "Our masterpiece" ). The one will not fit due to the bulky lenses in your pocket and all in all, the system will easily cost more than 3,500 bucks.
Wen it comes to mobility and price-performance ratio, the RX100 Mark II is currently second to none and is therefore in my opinion a good investment. Therefore, 5 stars!
