physical pain and the urge to vomit

Breaking Dawn (The Twilight Saga) (Paperback)

Customer Review

Although I had the Twilight hype only resisted for a long time, I've let some point and on the recommendation of a friend to be carried away, to read the number. First, with very positive results. The books are not literary masterpieces, certainly not, but the story is creative and a little love tearjerker can tolerate each time.

Unfortunately, the whole thing ends in a presumption, which was published under the name of "Breaking Dawn" and known to represent the fourth and final part of this somehow cheesy beautiful love story. Just what the hell is that?
I can not deny having felt even at the last part as in the previous three diverse emotions. Only that there is no stomach tingling or slight Fremdschämen more was this time, but bordering on physical pain aversion, severe nausea with a slight urge to pass due to Fremdschäm attacks of unprecedented scale, Laughter and profound disbelief. If the author has not ashamed of the rubbish they wrote there, I've done it.

****************************************** In detail and with SPOILER *** ********************************************

It's hard to bring any order into everything that total scrap was on this book. Perhaps only to the positve: The book consists of paper, the English Cover is the German far superior in terms of design and style, for a paperback, it is relatively stable and somehow come before even the same people and places, as in the first part. ..so at least by name. In character the world is upside down.

Now for the negative:

Point 1: EDWARD - he was in the other parts in character strong and often the dominate part of the relationship, it degenerates into a set eaten by love and despair wimp, which you really only can wish the coup de grace. He asked ironically Jacob actually about to kill him, under certain circumstances ... my God, what I wished for these circumstances would have occurred and I have to this whimpering nothingness no longer bear.

Point 2: the wedding and (most important) the wedding night - The wedding at the beginning of the book was the most tolerable. Of course, was again emphasized at least 100 Situtationen how terribly rich, the Cullens are (frankly they are to book rich for my taste of book). The wedding is then a bit cheesy, a little greasy, a little perfect world ... but tolerable. Then the honeymoon comes to Cullen'sche private island (I say yes: richer). So, and what the average reader is ready now, after she has tormented in three books by übelst schmaltzy love scenes with protection of minors, in every kiss, every touch, every breath was described in detail to detail and rolled out to croak? Correct: The wedding night. After all, Bella marries yes just to let Edward times stores this virgins-chatter. Well, the great night is over quickly: hold short hands, kisses .... the next morning. Which even keep the hands and kisses were described as profane and short, like no kiss, no holding hands at any time in any Twilight-band. Ms. Meyer is thus actually incredibly prudish ...

Point 3: THE obsession with sex - As a result of this stunning wedding night (yes we can not judge a reader lack of information) has bruises Bella, is out at the same time animal obsessed with inter-sex, marital activities. Unfortunately, it comes across a problem: your new wimp Husband Edward ... holding the experiment "sex with the human Bella" namely a failure.

Item 4 (and my personal favorite absurdity): PREGNANCY - Good perfect world. Bella has nevertheless be previously extensively by Rosalie vorheulen that she will never have children. Mrs. Meyer's ingenious solution: Bella gets hold a child while she is still human. From her actually dead, body fluids-free husband. While pretty much have to make Edward's ability to have sexual intercourse in question, he has now (around 100 years after his "death") still functional sperm ... respect. Of course no one knew, otherwise the two oh so mature spouses would definitely be thinking of a Verhüterli.
Bella is only 18, an age where most parents probably stood just before rampage due to a pregnancy of her daughters, of course, is not a problem. Still finds someone Ms Meyers morals questionable? Sex before marriage is terrible "Pooh", with 18 child and unsafe sex are "hui".
Edward wants to get an abortion in the monster Bellas stomach happy, but Bella is now not just sex, but also baby-obsessed and - not to forget - Edward a wimp. So get Bella in her pregnancy Speed Tempo (offensichlich needs a vampire / human hybrid just 4 weeks rather than 9 months), the monster baby brings them to drink of blood products (ie donate to other people their blood) and pulls Bella almost there ... what leads to the next problem.

Item 5: THE CHANGE OF PERSPECTIVE - offensichlich Mrs Meyer was overwhelmed with her home-made problem somewhat. How to write a book from the first-person perspective of a person who vegetate just before croak in the house? Answer: Not at all, but you change times just in the first-person perspective of ... uh ... Jacob. True to the motto: "Who is still there, then I'll take it ...". Not only is it irritating when 3 and 2/3 books are written from Bella's perspective. It's also easy uninteresting and again shows Mrs Meyers rather lean literary talent.

Item 6: THE BIRTH and the transformation - I've heard that this shall be the exciting, creepy part. Well, admittedly, it is bloody and it disgusts one's business. That's it. Exciting? If I paint my toenails and next time, that's about as exciting.

Item 7: THE MONSTER CHILD - it obviously does not fit into Mrs. Meyers ideal world, when Bella and Edward actually get a monster child. No, the child is perfect. Beautiful, highly intelligent, talented, owner of a heartbeat and a healthy human skin color and supernatural vampire forces alike. And it ages in record time. To Again, the perfect world not to destroy because the child had reached the age of death of a man about 10 years and was dead, it turns out that the child prodigy is aging only to the perfect age of Jugen adults and then simply no longer and, of course is immortal. According to logic but long gone asks in this book anyway, if this resolution is reached. Add to that the wonderful child's name: Renesmee. Yeah, the classic Kevin is not the schlimmeste what you can do to his child.
In addition, Mrs. Meyer can still come up with a really nasty solution so that Jacob is "entliebt" Bella. By namely imprinted on the child. Hello There? Pedophiles? Offense? Is course in woman Meyers ideal world also not a problem as sexual interest is of course only occur when the child is older ... it is and remains nevertheless disgusting and ill-conceived!
The child is anything but sweet, but rather reflect a basic about the reactivation of burning witches.

Item 8: BELLA - mochtet her clumsy, slightly confused and not bursting with self-confidence protagonist? Say "goodbye" and "hello" to Miss Perfect. While Edward namely mutated to wimp, Bella is the Super vampire. It is absolutely self-possessed, from the outset, it may be near people, has the most supernatural superpowers, chatting with Daddy who accepts all the changes still, better not continue investigating (great property for a police officer). Should not be really massive problems it when Bella is transformed? Privations? Loneliness? But nothing ... even Jacob she likes even as a vampire and not even the other werewolves want kill it or the Cullens for the breach of contract ... heal, heal the world.

Item 9: THE final battle - it is only waiting for the end. A decent carnage finally to beat the wretched Gesülze again from memory. Enough ideal candidate for potential corpses I had by then anyway had together after reading this impertinence.
And so it goes really: The Volturi come, the unnatural child so want to kill the monster name, war, a huge battle ... over at least spoken and very many vampires come to visit around the Cullens assist, as well as the wolves the Cullens want to assist. Then the armies are facing, it is until the reader has reached gelabert a comatose state, no (ok, a ... a small insignificant klitze supporting role) gets hurt and all have fond. Heal, heal the world.

*****************************************************************************************************************

In conclusion therefore: A little happy ending is ok, but if it is Happy is that one is just before vomiting, questionable morals are produced on an assembly line and Mrs. Meyer their own, built up in the previous novels logic in favor of their perverse ideal world completely over the raises pile, then it is clearly too much of a good thing. It is boring. It's bad. It's disappointing.

Sometimes I wish I had the last part not read, so I would have spared this poor end and could live with my much better Kopfkino-ends. Anyone who as I have to read the end necessarily, because you need to know just yet anyway, as it turns out, I highly recommend to prepare for it that his own Fremdschäm-limit will be significantly overwrought. And by the way: Too much eye-rolling makes a headache!
