The Dune Base 3D I bought as a supplement / replacement for my Dune D1. Certainly with the aspect of the 3D and WiFi are possible and more formats and possibly more stable supported by the current chip.
The interface is almost identical to the Dune D1. The stored descriptions of the movies (I use TVIXIE) function in the base 3D. Play 3D without problems, is also recognized by the TV properly. Play the most popular formats (MKV, XVID, DIVX, ...) largely without problems (see below). For important functioning FTP server (which have not all players and has in any of my Xtreamer works).
Sure, there are - the new arrive as with all media players on the market - some bugs.
Here are a few that are noticed.
- DHCP off, registered IP settings manually, works in LAN without hesitation. Then switch to Wi-Fi, at the moment trying the player, although the IP is deposited one to get the router which is obviously not going. It is easy to solve.
- Hard disk is generally not in standby. According to support a feature, not a bug ". But want to send in one of the upcoming versions of the drive into hibernation.
- Every now and unmotivated interruptions when playing XviD - files (but not all). I can compare this with the D1, it must be at the base since the D1 no problems makes.
- Temporarily Smaller disturbances. These manifest themselves in the form that some screen lines are displayed farbverfälscht. But is not that often and I suspect that it could be due to the special VBR resolution.
I must say that I could not test everything intensely. The points, however I found the Dune support have gone.
One must not forget how complex such a product is and how many different formats there. Then there are the possible different resolutions and audio formats. Have had no player of the work from the start without any problems. Worst of all was the DVICO well no longer exist so. My experience with Dune are all very well for many years and I think that a greater number of problems / errors are resolved quickly with the next update.
My conclusion, a really good player with a very wide range of functions and a lot of potential.
