I opted for this model, since I firstly need not Sleep and secondly with the three Weckmöglichkeiten (radio, chirping birds and singing bowls) completely'm satisfied. The luxury of a USB port I have not granted due to the still substantial price difference and of the likely non-use of the "better" equipment. I will confine myself to the most important: The menu system of the unit is self-explanatory in many parts. For individual details, the manual is written understandable. Important to me was that you can use the lamp for reading. Can we, the highest level of light intensity is almost like a flamethrower. A few steps less do it well. The buttons are well made and due to the weight of the lamp (does not mean that the lamp would be very hard) without two-handed use to prevent a fall can be pressed. The light button on the sidebar in an increase, which is easily felt. Another "more striking" button to turn the light would still not bad. The clock display can be dimmed. In the lowest level a pleasant brightness. The numbers are indeed kept quite large, recognizable for blindworms like me but still only by stalking. But that is certainly not to Philips. Now to the much-discussed hum: Yes, the lamp is buzzing. And yes, it bothers me. Therefore, the one star deduction. I am quite sensitive terms which sounds, in other words I hear quite well. When you wake up in the morning the hum reminds me less (because I'm probably still a little drowsy) as at the evening night reading. Since the lamp has got often slight Klappser of me, but this does not help. It probably seems to be the light source, because as soon as the light is off, there is peace. All in all, I highly recommend the Lamp! But you should really consider what bells and whistles you can actually use - the various models but vary greatly in price yes.
