Tornado (Paperback)

Customer Review

You know the movie Twister? Famous American movie about tornadoes? Since this film that begins to Date (released in 1996), I have not seen other films like masses him let alone read novels about tornadoes since this is the first I read with as the main subject is a natural disaster with a devastating tornado. A bit of freshness in my case, it's good :) Except that this is not a series of tornadoes but only one. The emotional side and psychology are very present. This is one of the strengths of this text.

The story is written in first person and is told by Jersey, a 16 year old who lives with her little sister 5 years old, her mother and stepfather in the Midwest. The novel is short, less than 300 pages. The accident happens very quickly. We quickly made us throw in the everyday life of this small family when suddenly arrives the tornado, this colossal monster. Once the residential destruction where they live, Jersey is home alone. His mother left with her sister, Marine, for his dance classes. When she come out of the cellar (as the author reminds us, in America, children from the earliest age doing test simulations for protection from tornadoes alerts to their schools for the day in case it day would come, so she knows what to do, although panic), its living space is destroyed. The house is a pile of ruins, while the residential area is destroyed. More roads, more trees, alarms and sirens in every corner ... This is the Apocalypse. How would we see our home that no longer resemble anything and not know how anything will your loved ones? It is on this point that the author takes us with a vision of a teenager who lost to all these landmarks in the space of a few seconds.

Good thinking is told in the novel is that causes young for cases of tornadoes but it is never a question of "post". True, once the threat part and have the chance of being alive if you are alone (e) and completely in shock, what should we do? That's a good question. And that is what we will see how will manage Jersey. More so more mobile networks. Should it manages. We can see the great solidarity of the people who is always there for major events.

This story is well written. Jennifer Brown knows where hurt. The words and thoughts of our teenage hurt. It is rightly well said. After the tornado, she goes to her grandparents, complete strangers to her, far from his city. To have a roof over their heads. The story take a different turn. She will get to know the other family, the side of her father that she has hardly ever seen. She who lived a peaceful life in her home, she will have trouble getting into the atmosphere of this house with its many inhabitants who do anything to get comfortable. It take a lot of difficult phrases to hear. The dialogues are raw. It is clearly not welcome here. It really changes register from that part. I have more adores see how Jersey, with whom we take compassion and sympathy, will cope with them, who themselves are just the opposite since they have no compassion. I was with her and wanted one desire: but to defend himself! And this moment will arrive. It is poignant! We tremble with it! I say nothing about the result. It is for you to discover the history :)

Loved "Tornado!" It's a little slap to be read at all costs. I was so caught up in the story that I happened to take my reading at night. When I finished a chapter and that I could not read just afterwards because I had to leave, I even thought about what I had just read. To tell me what will happen in the next chapter. I quickly attached to this reading. Not a keypad but the story is sufficiently excellent, exciting and touching we never get bored. No down time, reading is done alone. This is perhaps the only novel where I had so many emotions by reading it. And for me it is something very strong that "Tornado" to managed to give me. This is the first book I read Brown and he much want to read "Hate List" by the same author, published by Albin Michel also Wiz.
