Frankly, I do not even know where to start this column. Not because I did not like this book, quite the contrary, but precisely, I have too much to say that I do not know where to start! Because the author has made me go through so many feelings in this book that it's hard to put everything in order. I was really happy to find his pen, his comparisons and metaphors that are always so pleasant to read. Yes, these are small things like that that have enriched my reading!

"The Last Winter" is quite different from "the world of Clara" in many ways. In this book, the world is ravaged by a recurring evil winter too far, Malesève, vampires trees, monsters. Everything is described to the millimeter, so much so that when one is immersed in reading this, there really is, it seems to be beside the characters, to be part of the adventure and suffer with them .

Johan is a young man who refuses to be daunted and let himself die by this abominable winter. But above all, he is in love. And for love, he decides to find his beloved, part live in another city, in an attempt to escape death. What he does not suspect is that his friends and his brother are determined to follow also: Fanie, Theo and Khalid. A fifth person is with them, but not as much present: Raven.

What they do not realize is that their journey will be transformed gradually into hell. Because yes, they will suffer, and believe me, the author is not dead hands this time. This book is to be avoided for sensitive souls, because many times I have had the high-heart, surprises, round eyes. In short, injuries injuries, fighting in combat, the characters will be of all colors but will remain very still welded. The message of friendship and love that moves the author is so strong, powerful, that's what took precedence over everything else. A true hymn to the true values ​​of life.

As for the characters, I loved them all, to varying degrees.
Johan for unconditional his love for the woman he loves. He is passionate, motivated and desperate to find her, even to anticipate danger and death. I loved this strong character but at the same time sad, shocking and at times unconscious.
Theo, because it's big brother, the sensible man who knows how to take the right decisions, and that despite his love for his brother is ready to brave death but also getting in the way of the road from his brother when the latter takes bad decisions
Khalid, because it is Khalid. Because despite the fear, pain, evil, darkness that befell them, he always keeps his humor side that does good in a time when all believe is their last hour. And after all, when his grandfather he was slippers, he always said ...
Fanie, because it may well be a girl, she wants to prove it's made for adventure, risk, fighting. She wants to prove to his friends that she can help them, it's not because she's a girl she should remain quietly at home, waiting for them to come back or not. Admittedly, at times it was a bit upset to go squarely into harm, but her strong character I liked, and shows that a woman may well be part of a dangerous journey.
Finally, Raven. A character in itself. I can not say too much about him, just that this character is devoid of emotions and not afraid of death. Oddly, I loved that character, even if one does not see more than that.

In sum, chronic very difficult to write, because I liked this book I want to read it again. Yes, it is rare but there, the author has set the bar very high and he invented the story is original, compelling, frightening, demonic. His characters each hide dark secrets that are revealed as and measure that attention be much more to them. A disturbing story, very well described values, love beyond time, unbreakable friendship, unbreakable.
