I bought this knife (in 2012), like many others, thinking it would be really a good knife for the 'bushcraft'. Honestly, I find it too heavy to put in my backpack when I leave (eg in the forest). I was tied to a stick into a spear. After several launched, the tip of the blade has sold. I looked inside the blade and one can clearly see the impurities in the alloy of the metal. No surprise therefore that it did not keep! I spent months trying to contact Gerber about it. Never got an answer or even read confirmation. Gerber claims on its website that its knives are under 25 years guarantee (outside the US), but if they do not meet the owners knives customers with manufacturing defects ... no guarantee for them, apparently
For those who do not like the notched part ... the knife is also available in free version! Find out before you buy.
In short: - Good knife with good grip in cool options - Knife too heavy compared to other models and brands - Super bad customer service Gerber!
