Contrary to some reviews here I can not complain about the quality of the adapter. There are certainly no high-end adapter, but they seem sufficiently stable.
The power supply of the Power Bank is very handy and therefore easy to store when traveling. The Power Bank itself is really practical, the base is roughly equivalent to a Kindle Paperwhite, only slightly thicker. The weight is 450g with naturally higher, but in my backpack this should hardly be noticeable.
The Power Bank has a USB port with 5V and 2.1 amps and another connection for operation of notebooks. The notebook provides output voltages from 12-19V. The USB port can thus just as fast loading as the 10-watt USB power adapter from Apple, which is supplied with the iPads.
To use the adapter mitgeliferten they are (whether notebook adapter or USB) plugged into a special cable. This plug is unfortunately quite long. The adapter cables are relatively short, but this is to be welcomed while traveling more. The only exception is the MagSafe adapter, this has its own cable which is relatively long (about 2 meters).
The Power Bank is sold (usually without MagSafe adapter) from different manufacturers (such as anchor Astro Pro2). There you can find more appropriate product photos.
The charge indicator is realized in the form of 5 (red, quite bright) LEDs. They shine only when the user has pressed a corresponding button. The selected voltage is also read via LED, you can use a slider in 3 levels (12V, 16V, 19V) can be selected.
Charging the Power Bank goes quite quickly vonstatten. The discharge process unfortunately. On a ThinkPad X200, the Powerbank period should nearly double (Power Bank: 59.2 Wh, Thinkpad battery 62.2 Wh), which would correspond to (in my normal usage) about 6-8 hours. But 4-6 hours is more realistic. Along with the normal battery to get but so after all to 10-14 hours (at full brightness). This is quite alright as the notebook so it thinks would run into a wall outlet and thus the operating system uses an energy-saving scheme, the net operating profile. Especially for Apple devices, this should have consequences (PowerNap, etc.), but you can of course both profiles more alike.
During operation of laptops and USB devices can be charged. The Power Bank hereby remains pleasantly cool (lukewarm). Also during charging the Power Bank itself the batteries remain cool beautiful. After about 2 hours the Power Bank but is well filled again to reach full charge takes a little longer.
The housing makes a valued and stable impression. It may also appear to be easily opened (there are around the housing easily accessible, regular, Phillips screws, as it goes on the inside I did not try).
All in all I am very satisfied with the device, an additional USB output would possibly even desirable. Thanks to the laptop charging function can be in doubt, but make do with the USB port of your notebook, or you just wait until a USB device is fully charged and then loads the next. Also it would have been nice to enclose a storage space for the USB adapter. The adapter for the notebook to a
Plastic rail be plugged and thus not fly around loose. For USB, this would have made more sense, since it would more likely take multiple adapters here. Alternatively you can the original USB cable to use (and this has in some cases, see below).
Pity is that the 16.000mAh model is apparently the only variant with supplied MagSafe cable. If one finds a suitable cable (or soldered it to yourself because you have for example a broken MagSafe power adapter) the 20,000mAh model of anchor is even cheaper. For this you have to say, however, that the MagSafe connector from Apple has been patented and therefore can not readily be used by other manufacturers. Whether the plug is really licensed in this case, of course I do not know. but it is by no means an original connector of Apple because it is made of aluminum instead of plastic.
For some devices, the supplied adapter will not work with an original cable by the manufacturer (usually Apple) works charging but without any problems.
So far successfully loaded with equipment supplied adapters:
- ThinkPad X200
- IPhone 4S (iOS7)
- Kindle Paperwhite
- Kindle touch (3G)
- MacBook Air
- IPad 3 (iOS7)
- IPad 2 (iOS6)
Successfully loaded with original cables:
- IPhone 5 (iOS7, iOS6 is allegedly also with the included adapter)
When iPad 3 charging has only worked at the 2nd attempt, since a protective sleeve that was used also protects the back and the adapter is slightly bulkier than the original Apple connector. If he sits once works charging but reliable and also the plug does not slip out again constantly.
Contrary to the product photos, the two round inputs and outputs were not color coded in my version. The mentioned on the package insert label "in" and "out" is missing. But that's not a problem, because even though the plugs look very similar fits the charger cable only in the appropriate input.
