With an increasing number of small electric appliances, the demand is growing all well organized to accommodate on a power strip.
This is generally not a problem, however, occur more and more often with me 2 effects in the foreground.
1. inrush currents. With increased number of electrical appliances me prepare high inrush currents, such as those caused by the transformers in amplifiers and subwoofers, increasingly problems. This was reflected in me that when turning on conventional rails by radio or toggle flying out the backup. Only the sequential turning brought help, but is not practical.
2. The declining standby consumption. One of the few sensible things that the EU has so far brought about is the significant reduction in
Standby consumption. Whether television or amplifier, we reach mitlerweile values of 0.1 - 0,5Watt the disconnection from the mains make almost superfluous. Curiously, sometimes consume the Funksteckdosen more power than the actual devices that are connected due to power-saving goals.
So I needed a hybrid bar. A socket which has permanent outlets and a practical master-slave circuit for power-on scenarios.
First, a few technical things that are listed here only inadequately in the item description (subject to change):

For the actual construction:
The power strip comes in a regular cardboard of all important technical data lists. Enclosed to get an owner's manual and the option on the manufacturing side to all information. The instructions are in German uA.
The power strip makes a solid and extremely durable impression. Nothing is loose, nothing gives the impression of fast
go broke. The outlet boxes are secure and can be used well. Compared to cheap hardware store power strips go here
Plug slightly heavier pure, this I lead however to the "Parental Control" back. However, the connectors are still easily available
without the need to push or pull strongly the connector to remove.
The separation of the functional groups is immediately recognizable color and the potentiometer for adjusting the switching threshold is easily accessible on the mains-side. Here also the status LEDs are mounted.
To date, the relay of the master-slave power strip has always works without problems and does so with a clearly audible noise. Since I use a different Kopp-master-slave bar for many years I go here from a long-standing quality without planned
Obsolescence of how they probably occurs in many bars of 20 Class.
Overall, I forgive the bar but only 4 star:
Why?
1. The price
I'm sorry, but this bar is in my opinion simply overpriced. The purchase was made really just for lack of quality
Alternatives. I look at power strips neither a high development effort still immense material costs justify the price of some 70 and more. As a rule, only cents between moderate and good-quality electronics. Especially with switches or
Relay.
2. The material quality (no quality); hard to describe .... The bar is solid and high quality finish, but the materials would still have been better chosen. The bar calls itself Office socket. This suggests, along with the toggle switches, suggest that you have these bar are in switching range and either or even installed permanently visible. Because I would have given the
70 even desired when higher value materials, such as aluminum is used for the housing. Delicate, it would by no means, because even on the silver plastic are very fast scratches visible.
3. Lack of cable management. It would actually have been easy this socket with a cable management to provide a cable management. Be it that you can wrap around the bar, or simply manufacturers with detachable IEC power plugs the possibility for the customer leaves open to connect a cable length of your choice. Of course, the whining at a high Nivau, but this must not be allowed even at this price. Indirectly, however, can be removed and exchanged the lead with a plug defect. A layman, I advise hereof however from urgently.
4. The switching threshold of min. 7Watt will become critical in the near future. From Office bar in the PC is often the master device. Modern
But notebooks scrape already at the limit 10 watts when hindümpeln in everyday operation on. This could soon cause problems
cause if they come only with load over 7Watt.
_____
Conclusion:
Overall, the Kopp-bar a very robust piece of technology with a rare blend of permanent socket and master-slave circuit. For example, I use the TV as a master device that the phono preamp and the media player with controls. Permanent on power remain the subwoofer (0.5W standby), the AV / Receiver (0.5W standby) and the Fritz box for network / WLAN coverage.
I assume that you will have many years of fun with the device, the price for this, however, is really steep. Nevertheless, I am in
More willing to spend a few euros more doubts and mainly to get what I expect take me to buy a cheap bar, possibly overloaded or broken me going through a crazy-playing master-slave circuit devices.
