I've looked at various 15 inch notebooks from Acer, Asus, Dell, and MSI Medion. The choice fell on the Asus G55 without SSD. So far am very happy with the notebook, it is well made, offers plenty of performance in both gaming and in scope. Disturbing I feel on the hardware of the notebook that you can install on any SSD mSATA connector with no guarantee of losing.
Criticism of Win8 has me somewhat reminiscent WinVista, I personally have worked with WinVista Ultimate gladly, therefore, am without ALLOWED started with Win8. After just over 3 weeks I got unnerved changed the OS and get back to Win7 Ultimate (Asus makes this all the drivers on the Homepage). The constant change of Metro to the desktop and the search for installed programs makes an effective working on a notebook impossible. Here Asus notebook should offer no OS to the user to enable selection and to avoid purchasing an unneeded OS.
Positives:
+ Powerful
+ Very good keyboard
+ Low emissions see. My Acer
+ 2 years warranty
+ Processing adequate for the price
Negatives:
- Inaccessible mSATA SSD interface without warranty loss
- Operating system Windows 8 (here should be offered a version without OS)
