Delivery and packaging
The quick release was delivered very quickly and comes - peeled from the Amazon Typical package - in a simple blister package therefore. Our blister packaging was a bit bruised and battered, but since the closure appears quite stable, that there was no reason why to send him back.
Mounting the quick release
Included with the rapid closure part no assembly instructions, this is actually not necessary. Each armed with a little technical understanding buyer should create the structure. First, the old screw needs from, to solve one of the four quite thick screws on lock and then releases it from.
Now the new quick release must be screwed with the four supplied screws.
But what is that: After a brief visual inspection turns out that the screws are too short.
What now? The whole back end? But there are fortunately still the old lock the four screws provided.
So instead of new screw the quick release with the old installed on the bicycle rack. What went well also wonderful.
First test drive
When the bicycle rack mounted to the tow bar I noticed a fairly strong game fixed - the carrier was easily back and forth. But the designers have thought of a solution for this too. A - hidden beneath a small black cover - screw the quick release of the tow bar can be adjusted and then budge. It is the way pointed to a small enclosed list.
This only works with removed bike rack so that the whole action before something can take, since the carrier here up every now and again and is grown.
After the carrier was firmly enough for my taste there was a first test drive with three bikes on the support over a distance of about 150 km. It was found at the end of the bike carrier with the new quick-held rock solid. This impression has not changed even after several subsequent trips.
Conclusion
The acquisition of the snap closure has definitely paid off. The attachment of the bicycle carrier now takes significantly less time and even after frequent use, it keeps the wearer safely on the trailer hitch.
The lack of assembly instructions you can not bear certainly, however, the much too short screws are a "no go".
Desirable would also be a fine-tuning of the closure when attached bike carrier, but this is so apparently needed only once and therefore acceptable.
I would buy this quick release at any time.
PS: The supplied lock to complete the carrier has just survived two trips. Then I cut the strap through inattention while pushing down the lever and clean with little effort. Now I have a new lock and hang this is no longer an open, lever in the quick release.
