Pretty cool part

The USF925 replaced at us in the older ACTIVY Media Center, which although had some quirks, but by its ease of use, many receiver could cut something.
For me, the many ways to connect to our PC network were decisive. Specifically, the receiver should dock on our media server with several terabytes of images, photos and music. The Kathrein receiver also has fulfilled almost everything. The feature list is impressive and, accordingly, you also need a little patience until we have discovered one way or another delicacy.

Negative points that I was able to identify so far (and therefore only 4 out of 5):
- Relatively long time until the unit is ready for operation (about 20-30 seconds; clearly, it is actually like a PC under Linux)
- Ugly remote (veringert the Wife Acceptance Factor) ;-)
- YouTube is not (obviously since the last firmware release in September 2012), I also do not use
- Photos are not automatically turned into slide shows, although the necessary EXIF ​​information would be available.
- No playback of DVD audio and DVD video streams (TSINFO); would have me but also be surprised if as the necessary functionality would have been included.

Positives:
- Fast switching between channels
- Permanent Timeshifting (well, let's see if that holds through the built-in disc in the long run)
- Quiet despite active cooling

The revision of the channel list with an additional program (DVR Manager) I like that, but the transmission of the channel list and from the device is working with my firmware version only via USB or FTP (Note: Port 2121 use!).

Very practical, the remote control app for iOS and Android. Replaces searching the remote control when the children have hid it again.

One word I have to to get rid of HD +: that broadcasters in HD + recordings (eg up to the beginning of the recorded program, the programmed forward) stop the audition technically I find a mess. However, it is clear to me that Kathrein is not at fault here.

In summary, it is worth to spend some time in the configuration. Then you will be rewarded with a good device with powerful functions.
