Price has its quality

I've brought for me 2 parts of this set. The 67mm ring and the lens hood. Had I bought them originally from Cokin, I would have paid more than for this set. The rest of the set was therefore a bonus for me.
Now I already have the original 52mm ring and the original filter holder and will therefore compare in my review a little.
Apart from the rings of the contents of this set is made entirely of plastic. Even though the product description says otherwise, is also the lens hood made of plastic. And also the filters are by no means out of glass.

Catch me at times with the two holders. The plastic of the original Cokin holder makes a much better impression. The processing is significantly elevated. The China-holder in this set is poorly trimmed and the filter does not sit quite as tight in him. The Cokin Holder Slim I do not know. But it costs as much as this complete set. The difference in quality is likely to be the same as its 3-times the standard holder.

The bad deburring is also found on the hood again. Here I know the original is not also. The contained in this kit fit in any case not directly related to the original holder. But made to fit with a cutter in a few minutes. I have something to widen the holes. The cutter I then also removed a few burrs. Now you do what they want.

Even if one or the other, the filter is regarded as the main thing in this set, they played for me more of a supporting role, which is why I have not been extensively tested. The graduated filters are currently wrapped up in the closet. I use here the original Cokin filter and am also very satisfied. The of this set have a slightly harder course. With naked eye, I would say that all four are not only different degrees but slightly different color tinted. The original color-neutral act on me. I still want to mention that the filters are not labeled, so I specially can hardly distinguish the two strong graduated filter.

The ND filters I can not determine the color variance. Also, I find it easier to keep it apart despite the lack of endorsement. But as already written, I would have to test it in more detail to make a definitive statement on the quality. Will do that on occasion times and late filing also happy here. Whatever may be the quality, with the price one must not expect too much. For the beginner, it is certainly a sufficiently good starting point.

GET times to the rings: The rings are different than the original coated rings. They feel rough and do therefore indeed a slightly different impression than the original, but are perhaps the least significant part of the set. The two largest rings I was not able to test. All seven other rings were screwed easily. The only reason the original is to buy in my view, because they are manufactured in the EU (France) and not in China. As we come into the realm of philosophy. Should not play a role here. Whether this is ultimately good enough reason to spend much more money, everyone must decide for themselves.

Another common thing:
The Cokin P system is more suitable for cameras with APS-C sensor or smaller. For full frame (35mm sensor size) it would be better for example. pick up the Cokin Z or Lee filter system.

In conclusion and as a justification for my 5 stars I want to summarize that the overall quality of the set is not always the best, but the price performance outstanding. The quality is all over and at least sufficient to justify because of the rings the purchase entirely.
