Caveat: The Gimbal has no swivel mechanism for horizontal panning, it must be attached to a tripod head with Panorama function (Arca-Swiss-compatible - in my case a Sirui K-20X).
The Benro is lightweight (500g) and therefore charged the luggage hardly. Nevertheless, the workmanship is very high quality. The camera will not budge with the included quick release plate and the exchange system. My combination (see above) is perfect balance. The vertical swivel motion can be adjusted very finely on the friction. The horizontal pivoting movement is as I said before consummated on the panorama function of the tripod head.
Perhaps the gimbal pivots not quite as silky smooth as the more expensive, all in all, I'm using the function 100% satisfied. I use the Benro previously only for taking pictures of animals (mostly flying birds). Since my 400 IS has not is the one with the hand-held shooting such a thing. With tripod and ball head it goes quite well as long as the birds the height do not change when the Benro but its strengths.
100% buy recommendation for amateur photographers.
