10 years ago, well I had the Heco Megaspace Set consisting of 5 "howler cubes" and a passive subwoofer. This was operated with a Technics receiver. After that I lost due to various parades in student rental housing some interest in the hi-technology and went for convenience over to a cheap 5.1 Complete. Since then, however, I no longer gave it, I decided again for a real hi-fi set and bought this one. So then came soon the set in a huge box (about 60 kg) with me and was first unpacked carefully. The packaging is very exemplary. Every single speaker is again wrapped in a linen bag, to prevent scratches, and the like.
Processing:
The processing is very clean, all is well bonded without adhesive traces, scratches are not to be found, and the whole set feels very valuable to. In addition, small stable feet and spikes have yet been provided which at will can also attach. This I do not trust to also to withstand the enormous weight of the front speakers.
The look:
The mix of metal and wood veneer is very nice to look at and blends well in many residential landscapes certainly one. An eye-catcher is the silver midrange (Aluminum coating), which, if one operates the boxes without cover, give a nice visual contrast. Is not so nice that the covers are fixed on plastic parts and therefore more holes can be seen, as long as you do not use the covers. A magnetic solution would have been nice here. I have consistently placed the covers on the front speakers and the center to ensure a quieter optical design of the home theater. The rear, however, I will be "open" as a small visual highlights.
The Sound:
I run the boxes on a Yamaha RX-475 receiver. The boxes have a very clear and good sound, I would call much treble as easily. I myself like this. However, the YPAO calibration of Yamaha recommends to boost the highs and a slight increase of the bass. The latter, incidentally, is very intense due to the sideways installed 20 cm woofer. Another subwoofer for music not needed. In movies you can already count on the extra "kick". I then found it somewhat exaggerated, especially since I wanted to spare me daily visits of neighbors: D. I would therefore recommend everyone to first pick a subwoofer and to then consider yourself if ever one is necessary for your own taste.
The two large front speakers to invite many shenanigans one has to be found the optimum set-up for them. Bass inside or outside, with spikes without spikes. One should in any case take time to meet the various lineups times try.
The rear speakers do also have a very solid job. In my receiver are set to large and the foreseen frequencies make my opinion no prior problems.
The Center is also good. This is one, however, compared to the front speakers sometimes untergebuttert something before. An increase by approximately 1 db is attached to the Blurays partly due to poor Surroundabmischungen here. Overall, though, it rounds out the ensemble very well.
Ultimately, you can not do with this set for the price much wrong. It is processed wertig has a good crystal-clear sound and a very good surround effect. In this price range really have to work very hard to make Jamo competition.
From me, therefore, a full purchase recommendation!
